Would it help if I said there were few moderate Democrats against open borders? Not many, but a few.

"It's okay for me to torture this kid, because the parents ought to have known that if I caught them, I'd torture him. The torture is their fault. My conscience is clean." o_O

Do you have any moral compass at all?

It would help some if you're realistic enough to know that nobody's actually getting purposefully tortured.

But of course, the desire for extreme hyperbole hasn't waned I'm sure when it comes to demonizing Trump for something that actually began in the Obama Administration , of whom incidentally did the exact same thing.

Even to the point where that now viral Obama era photo circling around of caged children which were used in an anti Trump article with hilarious effect.

What would help would be if you demonstrated that your claim is accurate with some kind of quotes or policy outlines or something useful. You know, some actual substance.

You just finished arguing that Trump's treatment of migrants is on purpose. Remember how you went into depth about the exact Democratic policies that Trump was trying to exact revenge over?

    No, it didn't.

Under Obama, migrants who had committed serious crimes were detained. Under Trump, they've deemed anyone in the country illegally as "criminals," even though this by itself is an administrative offense, not a crime. Under Trump, they've also started treating refugee claimants as criminals, even though they've done nothing illegal at all.

The overcrowding and mistreatment is all brand new under Trump, too.

So not the same. Not by a long shot.

If you think there is a single company on that list that is socialist then you display an incredible lack of understanding about either socialism, or how business works. Or perhaps both.

But then again perhaps you do understand and are simply being disingenuous.

If you look hard enough you can find someone of any political designation advocating anything. There are always outliers, but characterizing a political demographic by cherry-picking the statements of outliers gives a very distorted picture. It's a favorite tool of propagandists.
The very act of separating families could be characterized as psychic torture, as is the incarceration in uncomfortable, abusive, substandard "detention centers." It's a deliberate deterrent.
Homeland Security admits it’s using abhorrent conditions at detention centers to deter migration

*The planet where people realize all these accusations basically comes from the Clint Texas Detention Facility as they try to accommodate the massive influx of illegals.

*The planet where those afflicted were actually removed from the facility once the conditions were brought to light and John Sanders stepping down as head of Customs border and protection services as a result.

*The planet where likely these kids were already in this condition long before they entered the facility considering the distance they had traveled under inhumane conditions prior to even stepping foot into the US yet are still being accused of causing said conditions.

*The planet where people are not living on past stories pretending that these things are still going on now when in fact conditions have notably improved since the concerns were put out.

Conditions apparently better at recently squalid border detention center for kids

A few years back there was a terrible earthquake in Haiti. Special visa privileges where granted to the victims. Thousands are still in the USA living on the gravy train.

Written by the former Governor of Colorado:
Abraham Lincoln put it well: "As our case is new, so we must think and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves." Few issues facing the United States are as important as the question of immigration, and on no other issue are Americans so blinded by past myths.
As children and grandchildren of immigrants, we have made immigration such a part of our mythology and folklore that it is immensely difficult to come to grips with the new realities. But history plays strange tricks on civilizations: Yesterday's solutions become today's problems.
Once the United States needed immigrants to people an empty continent. The myth lingers on, but those days are gone, never to return. Frontier America is gone, replaced by an America of 7.6 percent unemployment, with appallingly high unemployment among youth who are minority group members. Increasingly scarce resources, severe economic problems and the U. S. social fabric demand a rational immigration policy.
Immigration is already at the highest level in U. S. history: 808,000 legal immigrants in 1990, including the special status given to Cubans and Haitians. That is twice the number of immigrants accepted by all the rest of the world.
In addition to these legal immigrants, illegal immigration is at a high, non-quantifiable level. We do know that we had more than 1 million apprehensions of illegal immigrants in the last few years - 10 times the level in the early 1960s. It is not usually recognized, but most immigrants came not in 1911 or 1893 but in 1980. Legal and illegal immigration accounts for half the U.S. population growth rate and a rising percentage of crime.
Whatever the pressures now, they will soon grow dramatically worse. The population of Mexico has nearly tripled since 1945 and is expected to double in the next 20 years. Mexico has a 1abor force of 19 million people, half of them unemployed or seriously underemployed. Considering the great discrepancy in per capita income, the northward pull is tremendous.
We have to get our hearts in line with our heads and our myths in line with reality. We know we cannot accept all the people who want to come to to the United States. We know our immigration policy has to be designed in the U.S. interest.
We hate to say no to that worthy individual from the poverty-stricken country who just wants to do a little better. It seems selfish to set limits. The lady in the harbor would not understand. I believe, though, that dramatic reform is necessary and inevitable, and that the sooner we recognize this, the better off we will be.
Every year the United States imports a new poverty class. America owes its first duty to its own disadvantaged, unemployed and poor to maintain the strength of the United States. We can only meet our commitments by placing realistic limits on immigration.
The lady in the harbor symbolizes liberty, not immigration. It is time that we disenthralled ourselves.

Is it the increased population you object to, or do you think people of one region are more deserving of safety or prosperity than those of another? Does right and wrong change at each border crossing? How about your your moral obligation to a fellow person?

The Haitians were only granted a temporary visa. Why have they not gone back? The country has long recovered from the earthquake.

You are playing the race card not me. They have an agreement to return. Why cannot they go back per agreement and law?

This is one of the strangest excuses I've ever heard.
As if being in terrible conditions in some other place makes it okay to place children in terrible conditions within the US. Is the US not supposed to be "better" than everyone else? At least, that's what I'm always hearing ... greatest country on earth and all that. Freedom! Freedom! So the greatest country on earth can't be bothered to treat children with basic dignity anymore? Seriously, the government removes American children from abusive and neglectful homes, but when it comes to immigrant/refugee/asylum-seeking children, they're put directly into abusive and neglectful environments and then you throw your hands up and say "Oh well, the situations they came from were worse." How do you sleep at night with that kind of mindset?
