I read this on another site.

"Satan doesn’t kill anyone. He only takes care of the souls God don’t want to keep with him."

Things that make you go hm.

    In Orthodox Christianity,
when someone dies, they immediately are experiencing the holy fire of God. The virtuous feel well in the holy fire and they join God in heaven. The wicked are tortured by the fire, and they vanish, like they didn't exist at all. Satan accuses the sinners and does nothing else. There isn't eternal torment. Just annihilation.

True, there isn't eternal torment. The context is "death" takes what god doesn't want.

What do you base this on...that Orthodox Christianity doesn't believe in eternal punishment?

    EDIT

I mean, god's fire is torture to them. They can't stand it and they annihilate.

That may be your view, but I asked about your statement concerning Orthodox Christianity's view. What do you base it on. Yourself is not a valid source.

That’s a uniquely Christian perspective. You won’t find anything remotely resembling that in Hinduism, Buddhism, Paganism and other indigenous religious traditions.

It’s my observation that Christianity has an unhealthy obsession and association with sin, judgement, punishment, fire, devils and demons. It’s a shame because Jesus never spent so much time on the subject.

I don't know about the site you got it from, but 'Orthodox Christianity' holds to eternal punishment in the lake of fire. If they present themselves as 'orthodox' and hold the view you describe, then they are mistaken.

Actually Jesus spent a great deal of time talking about hell and eternal punishment as well as encountering the devil and demons in many places.

Christian Orthodox Fathers speak of eternal torment in the fire. That isn't eternal by people standards. In God there is no time.

Pretty much. His words were pretty short on the matter.

    Jesus said:

(Matt. 25:41) "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels."

The everlasting fire is Gods fire. They won't stand it. And the devil is the accusative.

"...into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Rev. 20:10)

Sorry I forgot to give the reference. I edited it to correct. See (Rev. 20:10)

It is an actual place. See also (Rev. 20:13-15).

It is at the end of the apocalypse at the final judgement of those who rejected Christ. And also the devil and his angels are judged just prior to it.
