I used to adore the Simpsons. 6:30 every friday evening. But a grew out of it. The only Simpsons i watch now is those clips (documentaries) posted by our beloved pseudo Scot @Revoltingest .

When Futurama came along i was again hooked. And didnt lose interest over the years.

So what say you? What’s better out of the Groening efforts? The Simpsons or Futurama?
@Revoltingest?
Clearly, The Simpsons is the greatest achievement of western civilization.
But Futurama is wonderful.
Zoidberg is me favorite.
This is one of the great cartoon bits in history....

There's great variation in episode quality, but that's to be expected.
I most enjoy the 1st 9 seasons.

Greatest episode?
I say toss up between "Marge Vs The Monorail" & "Cape Feare".
Based upon "The Music Man" & "Cape Fear", they're both a feast
for the eyes, ears, brain, & lesser organs.
Phil Hartman as Lyle Lanley does justice to Robert Preston.
Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob as Max Cady....wonderful....with rakes!
And of course we have that Bernard Herrmann theme for Cape Feare.

Turning on tv from the couch after the dog ate the remote, tickling the cat while keeping you fingers in tact. Reaching that difficult to reach itch in the middle of your back..? That sort of thing, at 5Cents its a steal

They are different whereas the Simpsons is good to great in the early years as a statement on social influence on people. Futurama had a few great years as a statement on peoples influence on society. The Simpsons can go on forever because society is always changing how it influences people. Futurama was always limited because a person or group of people are limited to how and how much they can effect society even if they are alien societies.
