Meritocracy is a strange thing.

When a White actor was chosen for the role, it was because he was clearly the most qualified and best suited for a role.

When a Black actor is now chosen for the same role, it's apparently only because Political Correctness has Gone Mad.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
The whole essence of acting is to pretend to be something you're not. I suppose the profession itself must eventually be condemned if this trend continues much further.

Do you support requiring actors to voice characters of only
the same race? I wonder....
Should writers write for characters of only the same race too?
What of gender, religion, nationality, & LGBT status?

To clarify...
If a character is black, should the writer for
that character's actions & dialog be black?
How do you write for "characters of only the same race" and how does it differ from other kinds of writing?
Some argue that writing for the story of someone
of another race doesn't work, & is even wrongful.
Essentially, one must be the character, to write for
the character. A sample...

Can Doctor Hibbard's story really be accurately
told by white writers...or is this "blackface"?
