The Second Mohammed.

Could someone educate me on the following question:

Is it true that the Mormon church was founded by "Prophet" Joseph Smith who proclaimed to be the second Mohammed to this generation, and that he would make it one gore of blood from the Rocky mountains to the Atlantic ocean; that like Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was, 'the Alcoran or the Sword.'
So shall it eventually be with us—‘Joseph Smith or the Sword!’??

Muhammed never said "Qur'an or the sword." That was Umar the great anti-Pope of Islam and after Muhammed was dead.

No, Joseph NEVER said that.

Apostates from the Church in Missouri in 1838 (or somewhere right around there) signed an affidavit saying that he said it in the beginning of the "Mormon War" as it's sometimes called, but they were lying through their teeth. That affidavit is the only place the quote exists, and since the claims in it have been proven to be false anything it accuses Joseph of doing and/or saying can't be trusted.

Thanks for clarifying. :)
