Eventually, we'll have robots that will go do our jobs for us, clean our houses, pick up groceries, prepare meals, run errands, pay bills, order goods and services and do everything else for us.

About that time, the robots will start saying to themselves, "Why in the hell are we doing all this stuff for these no-good layabouts?" and they'll cut us out of the equation.

just sayin'

Nothing new here. Wasn't Walmart among the first to introduce self-checkouts?
Are you sure this isn’t something new? The automation and robots already are eliminating jobs. As they improve, faster and faster exponentially, there will soon be very few jobs not at risk in elimination. This is a distinct possibility ypthat has never occurred before.

Oh, god... robot H.R.
Actually robots and automation are already in H.R. Algorithms can already select the best candidates from employment applications. They can also determine which jobs can best be eliminated in the most cost effective way. Also artificial intelligence can learn how a person does their job and make them redundant.

Have a nice day.

I feel personally that this is going to create hard times for a while. Then, eventually, we all could be making our own goods instead of buying them, using robot labor to help. Each person will work their own land and possibly collude with neighbors to make some of the more difficult products needed. The current business cycle based on consumerism can disappear as the robot replaces the assembly line.

Of course robots are eliminating jobs. They're eliminating the dirty, dangerous, laborious jobs that no one wants.

But the job sector is shifting. While these jobs are eliminated, new jobs in technology are being created at practically the same rate.

AI systems are getting better than doctors at diagnosing illness. And the legal profession is slowly seeing that same trend.
One area in law is already being automated. The discovery process, which until now was a bastion for surplus law school graduates, has now been successfully automated.

That is one possibility. I had thought of similar possibilities. Time will tell.

Are you so sure about that? The article you linked was rather short on specifics and has debatable conclusions. The same source of your article link, Forbes, also published an article saying much the opposite.
