The Restitution Of All Things

The words endless torment (adialeipton timorion) or eternal imprisonment (aidios eirgmos) and eternal punishment (aidios kalasin) do not appear anywhere in the Greek New Testament, (at least not in conjunction).

Whoever says that there is an eternal (aidios) time set for punishment (kalasin) beyond this life is sadly mistaken. It's a limited duration of aionion (age-abiding) kalasin (chastisement or correction) which is in view; but the day and hour that it begins and ends is unpredictable.
If it were eternal, then the word aidios would have been used.

But not even Jesus used the word for eternal in conjunction with any kind of punishment, or life for that matter. It is not talking about eternity, rather the quality of life, which will be one of righteousness or a period of correction to set things right!

“The love that brought forth the existence of all things, changes not through the fall of its creatures, but is continually at work, to bring back all fallen nature and creature to their first state of goodness. … God’s providence, from the fall to the restitution of all things, is doing the same thing, as when He said to the dark chaos of fallen nature, ‘Let there be light’; He still says, and will continue saying the same thing, till there is no evil of darkness left in all that is nature and creature. God creating, God illuminating, God sanctifying, God threatening and punishing, God forgiving and redeeming, is but one and the same essential, immutable, never ceasing working of the divine nature.” ~William Law

I once was lost in sin, but Jesus took me in
And just a little light from heaven filled my soul.
It bathed my heart in love, and wrote my name above
And just a little talk with Jesus made me whole
I may have doubts and fears, my eyes be filled with tears
But Jesus is a Friend who watches day and night
I go to Him in prayer, He knows my every care
And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right.

God is the great physician He doesn't sit around hoping fallible broken people dig their way out of their ignorance. The definition of a saviour is to save. The definition of a physician is to cure.

God is the Saviour/ Healer of all mankind

The whole ruined world

By these three prepositions Paul ascribes the universe (ta panta) with all the phenomena concerning creation, redemption, providence to God as the…

Ex= The Source

Di= The Agent

Eiv= The Goal

The Koine, ta pavnte, is the strongest word for all in the Scriptures; it literally means the all.

Romans 11:36=

ta pavnte/ ta panta, “in the absolute sense of the whole of creation, the all things, the universe, and, everything in heaven and earth that is in need of uniting and redeeming.”

It is not in the limited sense of “nearly all”, “pavnte” minus “ta”

The final preposition [eiv) reveals the ultimate goal of all that is. What has been provided in Christ is a re-turn, a re-storation, a re-newing, a re-demption, a re-concilation, a re-surrection, a re-stitution.

The prefix “re” means back again, again, anew–and all the words with this prefix speak of something that left its place and has now made its circuit and come back to the point of its beginning.

In the Christian story God descends to re-ascend. He comes down;… down to the very roots and sea-bed of the nature He has created. But He goes down to come up again and bring the whole ruined world up with Him. -C.S. Lewis

All things re-headed in Christ

In the dispensation of the fullness of the seasons, God will re-head all things in Christ.

All aspects of the universe are re-aligned into its Source.

Where the English says, “gather together,” the Greek is anakephalaiosasthai, from ana, again, and kephalaion, the head.

Hence, it means to re-head all things in Christ, both in the heavens and upon the earth.

When God created this world, he constituted Adam and Eve the united head. When the devil succeeded in their abduction, he cut the head off of the world, thus leaving the poor, fallen world without a head.

In the glorious restitution, Christ is going to glorify Himself and restore humanity back to its headship in the Father, its Creator.

The work of Christ will restore this world to its perfect celestial loyalty.

The believer's identity is that of a slave of Jesus Christ.

Seldom do we hear in today's teaching of coming to know our true identity, the joyful exultation, "Oh yes, I now know who and what I really am. I'm Christ's slave."

Continuing on that theme is the hope of belonging to the truth of Jesus' Lordship, and our relationship to that central truth of the New Testament. We are not our own, we have been bought with a price, that of the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Simply stated, we do not belong to ourselves, we belong to Another who owns us – not for His own selfish purposes – but so that by belonging to Him, we might share all that He is. We belong to Him as our Lord, but also we belong to Him in union with Him. His Lordship does involve His loving and gracious control, but that control is not as a Boss merely giving orders to underlings, but as the Lord who controls us by infusing us with His life of devotion to the Father.

Jonathan Mitchell---by thoroughly researching one of the Greek words conventionally translated as "commandment"--has uncovered that at its root, the word conveys the impartation of a goal. This truth, shines brightly particularly in John's first epistle as translated by our brother, Jonathan. Jesus doesn't get His way with us as our Lord by barking out "commands," but by being, Himself, in us, the imparted goal of God's eonian purpose. As our life, He is moving toward and into that goal with the certainty that accompanies His trustful confidence in the Father working within Him. Having already been perfected by His human experience to be the Seed-form of the New Humanity at the heart of God's wondrous purpose, by Him sharing Himself with us, as God's finished workmanship, we have God's goal-impartation within us in the Person of our Lord, by His Spirit. ~John Gavazzoni

Primal Deficiency

Deficiency is at the heart of all creaturely maladies; deficiency rooted in deliberately planned deprivation....not of our own will, but by the will of Him who has so subjected our creaturehood. We are deficient because we have been temporally denied existential sufficiency. "To him that has, more shall be given, and to him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away."

The human condition, spiritually, traces to deficiency of the knowledge of God.

By the knowledge of God, I mean not mere conceptual knowledge, not merely giving intellectual assent to biblical facts, but of "gnosis," the experiential, intimate knowledge of God which is intrinsic to the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Paul prayed that believers would be given "a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him." Why? Because they/we, came into this world deficient in that knowledge due to a deliberate deprivation. Even after experiencing initially the beginning of the Spirit's regenerating work in our hearts, we still suffer an ongoing deficiency until we progressively leave behind & are healed of that affliction as we are drawn into the full brightness of the light of Christ.

"The bread of God is the One who came out of heaven to give his life to feed the world.” ~TPT

The world means the entire world. The first-fruits of His love & grace partake of Him now.

In the fulness of times all creation is drawn into Him.

All creation in universal adoration.

Houston we have a problem

Science cannot define the scope of the universe.

The universe is moving in a continuous expansion in all directions.

Pi cannot be defined to within one digit 3.14.159 to infinity.

Our Father who is the Source of Pi & the expanding universe, declares He will fill the universe with the knowledge of Himself. He climbed the high mountain, He captured the enemy and seized the booty. Is it not true that the One who climbed up also climbed down, down to the valley of earth? And the One who climbed down is the One who climbed back up, up to highest heaven.

Our glorious Father/ Pater fills the universe with Himself. He is the Ending of the All.

"Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men." ~Romans 5:18

Note: Condemnation for ALL MEN: Justification for ALL men.

This free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “guilty!” But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God—acquitted with the words “not guilty!”

Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah!

In other words, just as condemnation came upon all people through one transgression, so through one righteous act of Jesus’ sacrifice, the perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all. One man’s disobedience opened the door for all humanity to become sinners.

So also one man’s obedience opened the door for many to be made perfectly right with God and acceptable to him.

Rev. 5:13

Every created thing (παν κτισμα). Every creature in a still wider antiphonal circle beyond the circle of angels (from κτιζω, for which see 1 Timothy 4:4; James 1:18), from all the four great fields of life (in heaven, upon the earth, under the earth as in verse Revelation 5:3, with on the sea επ της θαλασσης added).

No created thing is left out. This universal chorus of praise to Christ from all created life reminds one of the profound mystical passage in Romans 8:20-22 concerning the sympathetic agony of creation (κτισις) in hope of freedom from the bondage of corruption.

If the trail of the serpent is on all creation, it will be ultimately thrown off.

Divine Fire

renderTimingPixel.png

Our God IS consuming fire!

The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the Lake which burns with fire and brimstone which is the second death. The Lake is a Lake of Holy Ghost fiery water; filled with the fiery judgment of Almighty God.

The Lake is a prophetic spiritual picture of the revelation of the Lord Jesus himself. This is the revelation of Jesus who is the saviour of the entire world as he is working his saving grace. The Lake which burns with fire and brimstone is revealing our God!

Every stronghold, every bondage, every idol, every adversary that withholds the manifestation of the glory of the Lord, shall be consumed in the righteous judgment of the Lake of fire and brimstone. The Lake of Fire is a prophetic picture of the righteous judgment of the Lord Jesus himself as he abolishes all sin and death. This Lake which burns with holy fiery words and brimstone is the dealing of the Lord in which consumes all wood, hay and stubble; spiritually speaking of the lust of the flesh, the pride of life, the lust of the eyes, all shall be consumed by the washing of His holy fiery words of power and might.

Because of the gross misunderstanding of almost all people concerning the Lake of Fire, I will draw our attention to three words found in our text. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The word burn means combustion, or to consume.

To consume does not mean to annihilate, for there is no such thing as annihilation in the absolute and scientific sense. When fire consumes a log in your fireplace it does not destroy any of the elements within the log, it merely changes their form. Combustion is the process by which chemicals combine to form new chemicals. A tree might be cut down, sawed into fire wood, and burned in your fireplace. When the wood is burning the heat causes the chemicals of which the wood is composed to vaporize, mixing with the oxygen in the air to form new chemicals, including water and the gas carbon dioxide. So what was formerly a tree is no longer identified as the form of a tree, but the substance thereof is now simply changed into a different form and exists in its new form within the atmosphere as water, carbon dioxide, etc.

To burn means to change

God is not speaking of our bodies being burned up in the Lake of Fire, the fire is spiritual fire and its work is a spiritual work upon our stubborn wills, our carnal minds, our flesh nature, our corrupt passions, and all that causes us to be cast into the divine processing of God!
