In my circle, the #1 gaslighter might be identified as the current POTUS. It's not a perfect match, but close:

1. They tell blatant lies.
2. They deny they ever said something, even though you have proof.
4. They wear you down over time.
5. Their actions do not match their words.
7. They know confusion weakens people.
8. They project.
9. They try to align people against you.
10. They tell you or others that you are crazy.

I'll go with the original literary use of the term "gaslighting".
Not the feminist perversion which is simply about mere
vigorous disagreement.
Otherwise, all political disagreements would seem to fall
under the term...diluting it to the point of meaninglessness.

None of that mentions manipulation, which is what gaslighting is, just a certain range of methods to do it.

Except that "gaslighting" is applied so often when
it's mere disagreement, not manipulation.
Criminy, I've been subject to it by fervent feminists enuf.
It's personal attack resorted to when valid argument is lacking.
