What is a thought that it should occupy my attention?

If you would like to gain insight into the workings of your unconscious mind, you would do well to pay attention to your thoughts as they arise and pay attention as they pass away.

Would I then be the mind's servant, rather than the mind being my servant?

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Thoughts occur without initiation by me more often then not. But like my attitude, feelings and environment affect the kinds of thoughts I have.

So outwardly events impose and impact thoughts as well.

And when I decide to initiate thought my thoughts become focused.

So there is passive and willful thinking. Right?

So like my inner tiller of mind has some control over how thoughts go. You can take the helm, or just let em flow.

Then there's the matter of where your heart is at while thought processes occur or are initiated.

Meditation is good! Letting go of attachments is good!

Need and needlessness. Worthy and unworthy thoughts. Motivation, opportunity.

Who decides!? You right?

Duty to handle occurrences of thoughts.

Then not having one thought on the mind. And just being.
