Humans have enough ego to think the universe was specially made for them or vice versa. In reality, everything we have ever done, except for a few probes, has been on that one small dot.

In addition, if you get just a few light years away, even our sun would be a fairly dim star, easily ignored.

I kind of like the pale blue dot image taken over 30 years ago taken from voyager 1 as it reached the limits of our solar system. It does put things in perspective.
