This sounds like it would make a really entertaining
movie. Although they might get prosecuted for
lampooning government & the cops. That sounds
like a sequel, eh.

Go Onion!
**** the cops & prosecutors!
And I'm concerned about this going to SCOTUS.
Those humorless authoritarian dorks just might
unprotect parody & sarcasm.

Some criminal humor...

The man who wrote the Onion's Supreme Court brief takes parody very seriously

It seems that The Onion does indeed have layers. Good for them in defending an important form of free speech.
Satire can change laws. A German satirist insulted Erdogan and a law especially protecting foreign dignities vanished from our books as a result. Böhmermann was sentenced under the common law about insults to pay a fine and is barred from repeating his "Schmähkritik" in its original but no special privileges for people like Erdogan any more.

It is a good thing we have Supreme Court Justice Dankula on our side, fighting for what is right, and just, and good in this world.
