Assalam alaikum,
Jabir Ibn Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said (relating what Jibreel, Alaihi Salaam, said came to him): ".....AND KNOW THAT SHARAF (honour and nobility) OF THE BELIEVER LIES IN HIS QIYAMUL-LAYL (standing in Tahajjud prayer), AND HIS 'IZZAH (dignified greatness) LIES IN BEING NEEDLESS (and independent) FROM THE PEOPLE." [Al-Hakim, 3289/Tabarani, 4278].
The more you stand before Allah, Most High, in the silent depths of the nights-- seeking His help and relying upon Him alone-- the more you/we feel content and certain of being granted provision; the less we rely on people around us or worry about what they possess.
