"When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask Him any more questions." Mark 12:34 NIV

    What is knowledge?
    Knowledge is what we know.
    What means "to know"?
To know is to have knowledge.

    The way out of tautology:
Knowledge is the name of God.
The spirit of knowledge is God.

Thus, the God must exist as the knowledge exists.

Thus, because God is knowledge, then the God knows all, He is Omniscient Being.

Omniscient Being knows that Omniscient Being exists, thus if one gets to know all, he gets to know God.
"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame."
    1 Corinthians 15:34

Why is God all-powerful, Omnipotent? Because "Knowledge is Power":

Just out of curiosity, as I am a Hindu: The following Bible verses seem to indicate the opposite:

    Matthew 5:3
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

    Luke 10:21
At that time Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for it was Your good pleasure."

In Hinduism, God is considered sat-chit-ananda: existing, full of knowledge and blissful.

The Bible does not interpret itself: we need the right Church to go asking the priests.

    I would rather say:
"To know" is to have "Wisdom" in this context

Because "knowledge" is too much associated with Bookish-knowledge

    IMO:
This verse makes no sense and feels wrong to me. Hence I think it is not properly translated in English
I always check on BibleHub which translation fits. Below one makes sense to me; some others too

IF I read this in the context of a few verses before (and my previous reply above), it does make sense to me.

The 72 followers developed Spiritual ego (arrogance of having lots of knowledge), which is the greatest obstacle on the Spiritual path. Hence it is said it is better to have not much knowledge (arrogance); wisdom of course is fine. Spiritual Wisdom is simple, also available to ordinary people.

No need to be an Imam, a Priest or a Guru. But to let go of our ego, you need to be a Master. Children (young) usually do not have this huge ego (of knowing stuff)
    The Return of the Seventy-Two
17When the 72+ followers returned, they were excited and said, “Lord, even the demons obeyed when we spoke in your name!”

    18Jesus told them:

I saw Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. 19 I have given you the power to trample on snakes and scorpions and to defeat the power of your enemy Satan. Nothing can harm you. 20But don't be happy because evil spirits obey you. Be happy that your names are written in heaven!

    Jesus Thanks His Father
    (Matthew 11.25-27; 13.16,17)
21At that same time, Jesus felt the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit,+ and he said:

My Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I am grateful that you hid all this from wise and educated people and showed it to ordinary people. Yes, Father, this is what pleased you.

22 My Father has given me everything, and he is the only one who knows the Son. The only one who really knows the Father is the Son. But the Son wants to tell others about the Father, so they can know him too.

23Jesus then turned to his disciples and said to them in private, “You are really blessed to see what you see! 24Many prophets and kings were eager to see what you see and to hear what you hear. But I tell you they did not see or hear.”

sat-chit-ananda = Being, Awareness and Bliss (gives less confusion, as bookish knowledge usually is an obstacle to experience Bliss)

Thanks for proving a point I keep on making about religions. That they are always just man made bombastic gobbledygook so that everyone must go to a priest who tells them whatever he wants them to think it means, even if it says something entirely different.

"Poor in spirit" is like vairagya.

"Infants" is like intellectual humility and openness, or like beginner's mind (in zen).

It does not affect the point of my statement. I'm not about to add pastor, brother, preacher, "church councils", nor all the other variations. Most people will get the point with just the term "priest".

Jesus said "let the children come to me", NOT "come with your priest"
Priests may be helpful in the beginning. But my favorite is to ask "the priest inside".

Any Church is right for me, as long as the priests does not belittle other Churches and teaches that the goal is to go without Priest/Church

Such Churches/Priests I rather avoid at all costs:).
Once in a Church the Priest said "Your religion is wrong and all (4000) members agree with me on this". He was right on that, sadly

I agree that it's best to go to the source of all information ... direct contact with Jesus is the only source I trust 100%

The members of the Churches keep this business going. IF no one goes to such priests THEN they will be gone soon. Most still don't get the point

    Yes, profoundly sad indeed.

The only lasting thing I learned when my parents sent me to bible study (Brainwashing study.), was how myself and all the other kids saw so many problems with the Christian mythology, as none of it made any sense or reason. So we all kept on asking questions, but the answers didn't make any sense either, so we only questioned the answers all the more. Finally the teacher gave up and told us all to STOP asking questions and just believe what she told us. Then kept making us all keep reciting out loud all the verses that pertained to "god" disliking those who used their minds. And I was amazed at how meekly they all complied and allowed themselves to become brainwashed. I was the only one who didn't.
