I would say "good morning win" but it's afternoon so with a slight change i say "good afternoon win"

Interesting morning. I had an appointment with a specialist at 8:30. His office is 25 minutes from us normally but through a busy town at that time of day i left home at 7:45. Loads of time.

It was cold, -3c, usually when it's cold we have low humidity. Last night was high humidity with heavy fog. Roads were (and some still are) like glass.

Take the Jag, automatic 2/4wd, no problems in ice. Some however had problems. Just 5km from home i hit the first traffic jam (unheard of here in winter) after 10 minutes of not moving i decided to turn round and go the longer route. Got back on the main road about the time of my appointment 15km away. And then hit traffic jam #2 with no other way round. 50 minutes later we began to move at a nice steady 5kph, with the recovery truck that was blocking the road leading the convoy dragging a somewhat battered artic (semi/18 wheeler) that had not made a bend.

Arrived for my appointment an hour and 20 minutes late. Said sorry, explained what had happened and asked if the doctor was still able to see me this morning.

"It should be OK, I'll ask him when he arrives, everyone is late today.

He arrived just a couple of minutes later gushing apologies and explained he had been stuck for an hour and half in 2 traffic jams.

Turns out the doctor had been stuck in the same 2 traffic jams as me but didn't turn to go the other way where i did.

Now I'm back home.

@ChristineM gets an award for promoting the metric system.

@Revoltingest draws lines in the wrong place.

@Wu Wei gets my thanks for provoking and distracting @Revoltingest while I, well, let's not go there.

And @sun rise gets a funny frube for barking with an accent

You may be interested to know that a study in the UK a few years ago determined that dogs do indeed have regional accents

But we're happy!

This map shows us the different levels of happiness felt throughout the world, with green being the highest and red being the lowest. It may not come as a shock to see that many of the westernized countries are generally much “happier” than other countries.

I seem to remember that Finland was considered the happiest country in the world for the second year in a row

I was amazed at how happy we are, at least relatively speaking, given what is going on here. It's also interesting how unhappy they are in China, a surprise given the economic growth there.

China is only as happy as Xi allows them to be. But the economy combined with extreme zero tolerance Corona lock downs and the point system in place for ratting on others when they do bad things from minor (jaywalking to murder) I'm not surprised
