I finally figured out how to view episode 3.
Some cringie gay stuff, but very good.
(Yes, I'm a homophobe.)

My better half called me a homophobe (jokingly) when I said I really didn't want to see a sex scene with those two fellas. Homeless-looking Ron Swanson having sex? With another middle aged hairy guy? Ooft, no thanks. If it had been Chris Pines vs Chris Hemsworth I'd have watch them lick the faces off each other quite happily.

Seriously though, I thought the episode was great. I wept like a toddler who just flushed his favourite teddy down the toilet.

I haven’t stopped crying myself lol
Geez that was heartbreaking.

If I remember the game correctly Ellie once joked that she had found a gay porno mag that was “sticky” in their shack. Lol

And yes you’re welcome for the imagery :p:D

I found that very annoying, as well. It's going to be even more annoying when they introduce the Dina character. I wish I could kill her off or at least mute her in the game.

Ellie in the game looked like Ellen Page, to be honest, to the point where they could've probably sued them. Lol
Huh I always thought that likeness was done intentionally lol

I'm both woke & progressive, so I'm not supposed to be this way.
Nonetheless, gay sex is cringie. Ron Swanson boinking another
guy is just ew. But fast forwarding thru some scenes made it
a good episode.

Notice:
People should have the right to do some disgusting things.

I loved TLOU 1, it's one of my favorite games. However, I was completely underwhelmed and disappointed by the TV series. The characters were poorly reinterpreted and overall it was lethally lackluster and slow; most of the episodes were little more than fillers. I wasn't a fan of the second game and, considering the choices made for S1, it's not likely I'll watch S2.

Eh, I really enjoyed it

As a die-hard Walking Dead fan, I was bored out of my skull watching the first episode and didn't even finish watching it.

The lack of infected was definitely one of the show's many missteps. Especially since most viewers are not gamers and were not familiar with the universe and the show failed at fully conveying how dangerous they are and how treacherous the world was outside the Quarantine Zones. Then too, those who did play the game were left asking similarly to Ian, "Uh, Now, eventually you do plan to have zombies in your zombie show, right? Hello?"

That's basically the sentiment I've heard from people who played the game and from other Walking Dead fans.

Not sure what your point is? I didn't say there wasn't any reference to the infected, just insufficient for a zombie post-apocalyptic universe. The infected were everywhere in the game. E.g., that's one of the problems with Ep. 3. In the game there were various instances when Joel and Ellie ran into infected while looking for Bill and nearly die because Joel gets stuck in one of Bill's booby traps (which was also underplayed in the series; but then Bill was different from the game too).

I've never played the games.

The show has a good story and plot, the characters have colorful personalities and goals, the drama is good, and the zombie action doesn't disappoint nor do I feel that it's lacking. Maybe with all of the fans of the game criticizing the lack of zombies, we might see more zombie action in the next season. I think next season would be a better time to start that anyhow, as season 1 was a good time to build up the characters and story, no need for tons of action at that time.

The story as told in the game is far superior to how it was modified for the TV series which is why so many who are familiar with both tend to be dissatisfied with the series. It's not just a lack of action, the characters were off and weak in comparison (no shade toward the actors, poor production choices) and the danger of their world was diluted (which is due to both infected and non-infected).

I didn't enjoy the second game at all and, after being disappointed with S1, I'll probably pass on S2.

Fair enough. I agree, their world didn't seem very threatening. I wasn't at the edge of my seat watching them walk through the city streets like I was watching The Walking Dead.

It was her (at the time). She was the actress for the character.
