The Kybalion (a Brief Review)

The Kybalion, credited to the Egyptian mystic Hermes Trismegistus, is the founding text of all Hermetic philosophy. A solid basis for many occult ideas and practices, that are still in use in many circles. Covering topics such as the seven Hermetic Principles such as vibration, rhythm, gender and causation. It also contains chapters and explanation on such topics as the Divine paradox, and "The All" in all. I recommend this book for any student of the occult philosophies. Open your mind and open your ears when you give this text a whirl: "The lips of wisdom are closed, except to the ears of Understanding."

some believe that hermes was one and the same as melchizedek. this would make some sense because jesus is likened unto him.

Contemporary with Abraham, and, if the legends be true, an instructor of that venerable sage, Hermes was, and is, the Great Central Sun of Occultism, whose rays have served to illumine the countless teachings which have been promulgated since his time. All the fundamental and basic teachings embedded in the esoteric teachings of every race may be traced back to Hermes. Even the most ancient teachings of India undoubtedly have their roots in the original Hermetic Teachings.

Is it possible that Shem and Melchizedek are the same person?

"O, let not the flame die out! Cherished age after age
in its dark cavern--in its holy temples cherished. Fed
by pure ministers of love
--let not the flame die out!"

I'm not actually sure Hermes was a real person. But the occult teachings did spread far and wide.
