I get it
the 'old' English does not confuse me

there are newer prints....New English
the name of Moses and the title Genesis do not appear
and Chapter Two begins with statement the Chapter Two IS a retelling of Chapter One

no ....it is not

How would you know? While I greatly appreciate the fact that you're no longer hawking the NIV, it's unclear why you would judge the NKJV - a translation that fails the Isaiah 7:14 test - as "very good."

Oh, well, one step at a time. :D

Because I wanted to use the very best translation when I studied the Bible, I googled "best Bible translation." AT that time, the NASB was on top. That is the one I have used for 40 years. Ii do look up verses in other translation at times, but never the KJ.

I do like one verse in the KJ---Let us LABOR to enter God's rest.

The KJ is not a bad translation, it is just not the most accurate.

  • Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (KJV)
  • Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. (NKJV)
