The Fascism Test

Rather surprising given my score on the previous test...

I thought this was pretty childish stuff. The questions seemed so obvious. None of them were at all difficult or thought-provoking. I scored 26% but so what? It didn't tell me anything about myself I did not know and I'm sure that will be true for anyone.
Did you realize that none of them were actually questions? I know people call them questions, but they were just statements to agree or disagree with. I think not being thought provoking was intentional. But then, people take it as they will.

The question was the extent of agreement or disagreement.

Correct. That part was more far left communism. Fascism is more about favoured races, social Darwinism and their God given right to rule over others etc.
But maybe I am wrong

You're wrong.
Not entirely, but the quiz itself spelled out that (essentially) fascism is an overlapping circle on a Venn diagram of beliefs. If you're a socialist (for example) you are likely to hold some beliefs that a fascist ideology agrees with. That doesn't make you a fascist.

I scored 33%. I'm not a fascist, and the quiz interpreted my results as being 'not fascist'.

As the quiz itself identified, many people now see fascism as an insult or prejorative, rather than a set of beliefs.

Think of it a different way. If presented with a set of Christian ideals and cultural beliefs, I'd push back hard on some, be neutral on others and agree at some level with some. That doesn't make me Christian. It just means I'm not a reactionary.

This is for individuals to assess themselves. I have to admit that I didn't understand some of the statements, while some were easy to figure "where they are coming from." Some might make interesting discussion topics for this forum.

How Fascist Are You?

I got 43%. That's baloney. Also, I think that anyone who might be afraid they will be given the label fascist is probably not eager to take the test.

I am convinced that Americans tend to have a misconception about what Fascism is.
Especially the economic part of Fascism.
Your test results are 40% fascist because you have surely agreed on the economics part, that is made up of socialism, welfare state, state interventism.
Fascism is light years away from Republicans' vision of economy.
It is socialist-like.

But Fascism is right wing and Socialism is not. They interests may be similar but the way they go about it is different.

But Fascism is right wing and Socialism is not.
Socialism has historically always resulted in
authoritarianism that fits the dictionary definitions
of "fascism", eg, N Korea, PRC. Both "left" &
"right" wing governments can be fascist.

It is not, economically.
Rightists push for privatizations. Italian Fascism nationalized anything. Industry, trade unions, banking, etc...

I don't think it's baloney, I think it's just indoctrination.

People are believing that fascist things are okay.

RF sure has a lot of 30 something percent fascists.
You should be ashamed that you're in there with me.
Well it doesn't bother me being at 43% since I doubt it reflects my true position. As mentioned, it's a load of baloney, given I tend to line up with other more socialist and liberal types here on RF and as to the other test taken.

Well, socialists do tend to be fascist.
