The Dead End of Racial Identity Politics

I thought this was a well written article. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm of the opinion that Identity Politics has become a substitute for talking about Class, the socio-economic roots of injustices and the conflict between Capitalism and Socialism. Its not that they are unnecessary but that they have to be part of a much wider movement, rather than simply trying to "end Racism" under Capitalism by reforms.

There is a fair amount of Marxist literature from discussions within the American Communist Party and Movement on the problem of whether there is a Black Nation in the USA if you are interested.

An aside: does anyone here find it odd that an article that quotes Rosa Luxembourg fails to reference Lenin's The Right of Nations to Self Determination?
