The creation of matter and the Demiurge

In conversation yesterday with some work colleagues we were discussing this topic. It seems some people have no clue and others various opinions. I want to share what I think with you and also read about your ideas too.
I think the big bang was the first emanation of forethought from the Ineffable One in the Pleroma creating the Barbelo and the fallout from this big bang was matter, a waste product scattered into darkness. Within the Barbelo the Ineffable One created again and again as we know. When He created Knowledge (Sophia) and Knowledge created without the consort of the Ineffable One the thing Knowledge created was what we call the Demiurge, a lesser imperfect god. Knowledge saw the imperfections and hid the Demiurge in a cloud outside the Barbelo, in a cloud of dust (matter). The Demiurge then being alone, thought he was alone and god, he began to create, or rather use the matter around him to make the material universe.
What do you think?
