Flesh means material world, it has no spiritual meaning, higher pneumatic nature is not of material world. This is what Christian consciousness is.

Most of the Bible are myths that have a lot of underlying truth and hidden meanings. Internal meanings relating to experiences occurring within someone. If someone has experienced them, they will know and understand what I mean. For the spiritually mature. Not the outward or the outward physical meanings.

The term flesh in the NT literally means flesh not the material world, it is usually used to describe people who seeking after the pleasures of the flesh

On Gnostic world it is associated with material body, hylic nature.

I am really not a big fan of the Gnostics. They tended to twist things around to fit their own irrational agenda.

That does not bother me. Christ was a Gnostic so, was Christianity. You can not see it, many can not.

I cannot speak specifically of any particular religion. In general, I will note only two points.
First. One who is strongly immersed in materialistic worldview, will have difficulty in understanding scripture in non literalist mode. I have seen so called scholars see sexual matters in scripture when there may not be any such thing. Even, adherents of religions attack scripture of religions other than theirs in ignorant mode — often wilfully.
Second. Scripture present spirit-god-reality at three or more levels: dual, pantheism, panentheism-non dual. Even religious-spiritual people keep arguing on these differences. The empiricist cannot even have any inkling of such layered presentation.

Sure. The blind seeing = the ignorant becoming aware.
In many texts:
“Man” = human being.(no gender.)
“Woman” = mind.
“Church” = body.

Yeah, man and woman - two sides of brain, man, Adam was made two, Adam and Eve. I see that originally man was bicameral and became what we are now. CNS change. Church is Earth condition of Christ within.

It is the people who don't look at scripture through a well reasoned, rational and critical lens who miss the larger presentation. They have no idea why the scripture was written, no idea about it's historical background, no idea about the person who wrote it, no clue has to the changes made to it through the ages. They don't understand anything like brute animals with no reasoning who just look at things superficially and devour them without thinking about what they are eating and then feel themselves happy because their gut is filled unknowledgeable of the fact they ate a bunch of crap. What you are describing is nothing but intellectual barbarism. We have this thing called reason and it apply to everything.
