Sin is going against the will/wishes of your chosen deity.

Wrong is wrong regardless of if your chosen deity thinks otherwise.
    Slavery for instance.

Since Jesus himself foretold an apostasy from true Christianity, then all you need to do is stand back and see the ”fruitage” of the early church. It’s not what you say, it’s what you do that counts. What you say has to correspond to the actions you carry out. From the second century onward, there is a gradual and steady decline as “the church” left behind Christ’s teachings to introduce more and more of their own false doctrines.

What claims to be “Christianity” today is IMO, a far cry from anything Christ taught. The core of doctrines accepted by the majority of Christendom’s churches find no support in scripture. The trinity, immortality of the soul, hellfire, purgatory, infant baptism, the celebration of festivals that have nothing to do with Christ, but were given a “Christian” title. The departure was almost complete. Having come out of Christendom, it was obvious to me as I studied the Bible itself, just how far off track they had ventured.
Any wonder Jesus says of them...”I never knew you, get away from me you workers of lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:21-23)

Because of their active support of their nation’s wars, Christendom has much blood on her hands. (Isaiah 1:15) Jesus never gave justification for bloodshed. (Matthew 5:43-44)
If ever you need a definition of ”sin”....there it is. It seems that whatever Jesus taught, they did the opposite.

Sin is a word that in the language it comes from means simply 'missing the mark.' Certainly, making mistakes is not a concept exclusive to Christianity and it would take a HUGE ego to suppose they always hit the target.

The sad part is that all of this situation was avoidable. Our original perfection would have remained and everlasting life maintained by "the tree of life" would have ensured what God started in the beginning.......if only they had respected God's right to set the limits of their freedom.

The "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" is grossly misunderstood by many IMO. Some believe that they did not know good from bad and are therefore not really guilty of the sin they committed. But if you read the account, Adam had been educated for some time before God created his mate. That means that Adam knew better. Respect for what God claimed as his own property should have been enough, but the penalty should have reinforced how important it was to give to God what belongs to him. What they stole was not a piece of fruit, but a denial of God's sovereignty over them....a denial already manifest in the first rebel, satan the devil who targeted the woman so as to influence the man. Sin came into the world through Adam, not his wife. (Romans 5:12) What the devil did was divide his loyalties....so divide and conquer has been his favorite tactic all along.

The reason I think we need to be ‘born again’ is that we have lost our way and tarnished our once pure image from our sins committed in life.

Many sin without realizing it. For example, after the 911 attack, President W. Bush felt that we would be sitting ducks if we didn't fight back. God said "thou shalt not kill" and "turn the other cheek" and made it clear that God would handle the terrorists for us. It was sinning to attack Iraq (and Revelation made that abundantly clear).

Satan's fear turns us away from God. The US felt that it could kill a million Iraqis to feel safer, but killing is a sin.

    W. Bush was not honest with Americans, and intentionally hid the truth about torture camps and motivation for war (false accusations of weapons of mass destruction).

Satan's deceptions turn us away from God.

The concept origin of sin is described in science.

Earth a sealed stone cold body as a God O mass angel had burst in space opening....burnt...cooled in its womb. Space mother of God stopped original sin.

God was once a burning mass origin of the sin of God....yet God owned no sin as seal of stone was not burning.

    A teaching.

Humans without sin as we are not God O earth energy mass stone history.

So God stone not original sin.
    Human being not original sin.

Scientist man committed a sin by converting burning God seal mass cold stone in occult science. Sun radiation mass thesis. Why he was named a satanist.

God stone owns cold non burning radiating history.

The difference of knowing we humans owned no sin...to having it forced attack change human nature. By scientists.

I don't think that sin can exist anywhere in the natural world. A hawk snatching a dove in flight is not evil, just doing what it does. Everything just does what it does.

And Humans? I can definitely be sure that infants, those with low intelligence, those with mental illnesses... none of these can 'sin', and so all that I am left with is healthy adult humans with intellect. But even within this group I wouldn't describe nasty actiins and thoughts as sinful, simply just plain ol' wicked.

Hi Ray Warren. Good afternoon. Sin is the transgression of the Law according to 1 John 3:4.

"4 Everyone that commits sin also transgresses the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

If we believe that the Law of Yahweh is good, we should be doing what we can to keep His Laws and not break or transgress those Laws. Yahweh's Law is good. It's perfect. And we can become more like Yahweh if we observe it. Furthermore, we can enter in to eternal life by avoiding sin: "And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:17) The implication is, don't sin. How many times did Yahshua say, 'Go and sin no more'? He said it a number of times. We should desire to please Yahweh and Yahshua, and enter in to life and we cannot do this without keeping His commandments.

This is true, in theory, but not true in theology. If man had not sinned, there would be no need for the Son of God.

Beyond that, I am convinced the whole purpose of the OT, 1,000's of years of human experience trying to do it on their own but failing is needed to satisfy the human ego, to convince our ego that we cannot do it alone. 1 Corinthians reveals the end game beautifully. The end game is everyone submits themselves to God's will; he lives in us and we in him; meaning, we have his Spirit and sin is no more.

23 But this is how it will happen: the Anointed’s awakening is the firstfruits. It will be followed by the resurrection of all those who belong to Him at His coming, 24 and then the end will come. After He has conquered His enemies and shut down every rule and authority vying for power, He will hand over the Kingdom to God, the Father of all that is. 25 And He must reign as King until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last hostile power to be destroyed is death itself. 27 All this will happen to fulfill the Scripture that says, “You placed everything on earth beneath His feet.”[a] (Although it says “everything,” it is clear that this does not also pertain to God, who created everything and made it all subject to Him.) 28 Then, when all creation has taken its rightful place beneath God’s sovereign reign, the Son will follow, subject to the Father who exalted Him over all created things; then God will be God over all.
    1 Corinthians 15:23-28 (VOICE

It is interesting to contemplate what would have happened if the woman had simply told the serpent the command that God had set in place, and actually acted on it by telling him to "get lost".
Or a different outcome again would have resulted if the man had declined the fruit from his wife's hand?

In either of those scenarios, the sacrifice of Christ would have been unnecessary. The Father would have remained as man's only Sovereign Ruler, and his purpose for this earth would have gone ahead unhindered. (Isaiah 55:11) Would that have been so bad? I see no problem at all with God's first purpose.....no sin in the world would have meant living a vastly different life.

Yes, this passage reveals that the Kingdom arrangement in the hands of Christ Jesus and his co-rulers is temporary. It is to accomplish what God set out at the beginning.....to have a perfect race of obedient humans to take care of his earthly creation...to represent him here as free will beings who would have God's qualities and attributes so as to be the perfect ones to look after God's creation as he would. Love would be the dominant quality demonstrated by all who have the pleasure of enjoying what God has made for them.

Once Jesus has accomplished his mission, everything will go back to the way it was before sin entered into the world. Imagine what God has planned for his vast Universe.....I'm sure he intends to fill it with life and he has forever to do as he pleases. I eagerly anticipate the future.....:)
