The Clueless About Politics Thread

Dan From Smithville

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Well obviously I'm not disinterested.

Personally I think it falls under freedom of speech.

The only time I have issue with something like this when the hypocrisy is in full effect.

I wonder what would happen if Trump posted a video of AoC being assasinated.

Do you think it would get more or less attention than the article in your OP?

It's a rhetorical question.

We all know the answer.

A literal effin meltdown like no other ever seen before. Far worse than the initial 2016 election day meltdown.
It should be pretty clear to anyone that is a rational mind, that portraying a political celebrity as being assassinated is pretty stupid. A wise person would not do it. I may not like our president, but it should not have been done.

You'd think people would learn from that Kathy Griffin escapade.

Oh. It is a car. Let me look that up.

You are right. It appears to be some sort of car.
It's based on the Toyota Matrix.

This thread is about those who say things which show cluelessness
about how others will react in the current political climate. Well,
the thread started off about that. It's about whatever you want now.
What else disinterests you?

Anyway, I don't challenge their right to such expression.

Ok point taken I'll bow out.

Like you say, I am not challenging their right to do something stupid. Only their decision making in actually doing something stupid.

I thought the Kathy Griffin episode was incredibly brilliant. Alas, too many people only want to sample Politics, instead of wallow in it.

They like to pretend it's not downright ugly, 100% of the time. The same sort of folk who like to pretend that eating meat isn't killing anything, not really.

Me? I recognize the fact that ALL politics is Nasty.

Politics:
Poly -- Many
Tics -- Blood-sucking parasites

Shame?
That is for the weak.

We who play board games pick the best move we see,
even if it's imperfect. It would be folly to select a better
move which has the singular failing of unavailability.
(That was a reference to better 3rd party candidates.)

Some people (typically lefties) are blind to the idea that
one can vote for a candidate one doesn't support.
Even analogies fail to evince the concept.
Suppose one is forced to choose:
Have a good finger or toe amputated.
If one picks a toe, is one a supporter
of amputating perfectly good toes?
A practical person picks the lesser
of 2 evils in order to minimize it.
This is not to support evil.
A vote is support.
