And these are more important than love, justice, compassion...etc.? But aren't things like "justice, mercy and faith" among the "weightier matters" that Jesus censured the Pharisees for overlooking? (Matthew 23:23) Can a Christian conscientiously put jobs and economic stability ahead of justice and compassion?

Charity starts at home. I can't help who someone doesn't have a job, if I am jobless myself. Once I have a job, I can help others who don't.

    Money doesn't grow on trees.

Maybe not, but even if it did, 'charity' (aka 'agape' or 'love') is not a fruit of that tree (Galatians 5:22-23) - and that's probably where it all goes awry...a tenth of the mint and the dill...and all that (Matthew 23).

Note to staff: can we have an emoji that shows Jesus shaking his head?

OK - this'll do for now...

    Love don't pay the bills.;)

How's that Democratic super majority working out in California with the homeless problem? Oh nothing is happening that's right, must not be enough love right? Because they certainly have the money.

So that would be the response of a Rightist?

A land controlled by Christian Rightists would be a dangerous place, methinks.

I mean it's probably because the Left is going too far toward blatant Marxism... government run banks, the green new deal (thinly veiled step toward corporate takeover by the state)..... votes for illegals, for 16 year olds, when everyone knows it's only because of how they vote and not any grand notion of "justice." And yeah it's cliche now but "If it's a concentration camp it's the first one people are climbing the fence to get in." (not to mention the only one people are free to leave) It's either stop people at the border or don't. If you want to make the accommodations better then I'm all for that. But if you take a young child on a dangerous journey for 100's of miles to the border and they get sick along the way, then the people at the border don't have the resources to save them, does the full weight of the blame go to the U.S? None for the parents? None for the home country? None for Mexico? And Abortion is just another attack on the family. They don't want people to get their heads mixed up with being dedicated to anything else except the almighty state. Communism; what a joke! A protection racket to protect against powerful corporations and monopolies by giving their power to an ultimate monopoly over every industry (the state, probably backed by the same corporations: a legal monopoly enforced by armies), all because of a misguided notion that their leaders are "for the people" -they don't give a damn about the people! Private property with lower property taxes are needed.. property tax can be as high as rent here in NJ! If you want to give people the means of production; owning land is the means of production. End stupid inheritance taxes. Trump spoke out against these things, that's why alot of people like him. We'll see what happens in Iran, but war didn't cease under Obama that's for sure.

It's no good pointing fingers at everybody else.
Extreme Christian Right Wing ideas are just dreadfully dangerous for a free society.

Would you be executing LGBT folks?, or making raped women have resulting babies?, or shrieking about your tax dollars supporting medicare-for-all, education-for-all, benefits for the disabled, and more?

How Christianity gets turned upside down by the extremists has always amazed me. :)

Center left Libertarian. Sometimes just stating unbiased facts comes out cold. But I am not into sugar coating my words and coddling people. You're all adults you can handle straight talk.

    I know!
And you didn't get the Opening Post either.

Let's take one of the points that you didn't get.

The US President walked out of an agreement between Iran and UN countries which Iran had been keeping. He loaded sanctions and trading barriers on to Iran without any proof that Iran was breaking it's part of the deal. The UN and Europe and other countries all disagreed with the US on this. Then the US got tougher, and when, out of the blue, a couple of tankers blew up the US immediately blamed Iran. When Iran decided to bust a sctrewed up deal itself it found blooming great spy planes zooming over its air-space so it shot one down and showed the wreckage to the world.

Then the US brought itself within ten minutes of unleeshing death and destruction upon the Iranian people.

And you laughed out loud in your reply.

    It wasn't funny.

Nope, but the lefts overreaction to it is funny. Just like with N.Korea. Y'all freaked out Trump gonna start a war. Then he settles things peacefully with N.Korea then you accuse him of being too soft on N.Korea.

The hypocrisy is hillarious not the situation.
