Last weekend we were travelling, and stopped by a small Hindu temple, following my Guru's teaching, "Never lose the opportunity to enter a Hindu temple."
It was in southern BC, started 30 years ago by a small group, and still remains small, maybe serving 50 families at most. Of course we were welcomed with open arms, despite being total strangers, as it was our first time there. There were maybe 45 minutes of bhajans, followed by aarti, and prasad. This was a Sunday, the only day they open, other than festival days.
Me being me, I raised my hand during the 'announcement' time before prasad, and after aarti. It occurred to me at that moment that the experience was much like that of electric car owners who stop for a charge, only to be on their way, all charged up. So I shared that analogy, which got smiles and cheer all around.
We are so lucky to have such places.
    Aum
