Besides the 144,000 listed in Revelation there were people in the scriptures that were described as being "anointed". Just what that means I shall explain...

Anointing.

Anointing is the giving of authority or a commission by a superior to someone who does not already have authority. The Bible often uses the Hebrew sukh and the Greek aleipho for the commonplace greasing, or rubbing on of oil.
Daniel 10:3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

Ruth 3:3 Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the threshing-floor, but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

John 11:2 And it was that Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
But for a special anointing with oil, it generally uses the Hebrew word mashach, from which the word mashiach (Messiah) comes, and the Greek word khrio, from which comes khristos (Christ).
Exodus 30:30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

Leviticus 4:5 And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it to the tent of meeting:

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,

Acts 4:26 The kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together, Against the Lord, and against his Anointed:

Jesus Christ was anointed.

God's spirit descended upon Jesus at his baptism, showing that Jesus was not anointed by spirit until that time.
(Matthew 3:13-17) 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 3:14 But John would have hindered him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 3:15 But Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffereth him. 3:16 And Jesus when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him; 3:17 and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Aaron and his sons were anointed.

Aaron was then anointed in the manner described at Psalm 133:2 and could thereafter be called the mashiach, or messiah (khristos, LXX), that is, the "anointed one."
Psalms 133:2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, That ran down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard; That came down upon the skirt of his garments;

Leviticus 4:5 And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it to the tent of meeting:

Leviticus 4:16 And the anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bullock to the tent of meeting:

Leviticus 6:22 And the anointed priest that shall be in his stead from among his sons shall offer it: by a statute for ever it shall be wholly burnt unto Jehovah.
Aaron's sons were also anointed. The firstborn Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
(Exodus 40:12-15) 40:12 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tent of meeting, and shalt wash them with water. 40:13 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments; and thou shalt anoint him, and sanctify him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. 40:14 And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them; 40:15 and thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: and their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. The 12 persons Jesus choose to be apostles were anointed.
(Matthew 10:2-4) 10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother; 10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 10:4 Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
There's the 70 of Pentecost 33 A.D.
(Acts 2:1-6) 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place. 2:2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 2:3 And there appeared unto them tongues parting asunder, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them. 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 2:5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 2:6 And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speaking in his own language.

And also, King Saul, King David, Elija, Elisha, Hazael, Cyrus and...

Aaron was able to walk before the true God in the tabernacle.

Aaron turned the Nile river to blood using the staff that Moses walked with.

Moses split the Sea of Reeds (Red Sea) by lifting his staff above his head while he stood before the water.

Elijah prayed and fire came down from the sky which consumed the altar he set up when he was proving the idolaters were false prophets.

The apostle Peter walked on water for a bit where he went out to meet Jesus who was walking on water in the Sea of Galilee.

The other apostles cured persons of sicknesses, raised persons from the dead and expelled wicked spirits. So did Jesus. The wicked spirits were not destroyed however, just expelled from the persons who were possessed.

Matthew 24:4
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.

Matthew 24:5
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.

Are these quotes from Jesus to warn everyone about people like Paul of Tarsus, the man who nullified the teachings of all the prophets? You forgot these....

Don't forget Matthew 24:23-24
Then if ANY man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there, believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets...

Paul: Galatians 2:20
not I, but Christ liveth in me
Galatians1:24
and they glorified God in me
