I can't believe what I've found
I turn my head to Heaven as I dance on sacred ground
To a secret, sacred, symphony
That comes without a sound
Like the stars,
In the evening

A Riddle and a Mystery
That only open hearts can hear
And open eyes can see
That says, "Everything is bless-ed
To a mind that's broken free
Of the chains,
Of "believing"

You're what is
You're the angel of the Road
You're a steady hand upon my shoulder
Everywhere I go
You're the fountain of the here-and now
From which Forever flows
You're what is,
The Angel of the road.

I took a trip through babylon
Everything I did was "right"
and everything went wrong
Now my worries, fears, and fantasies
Are back where they belong
In the mirror,
Far behind me

And now I'm back with you at last
Your breezes from Forever come
To wash away my past
'Cuz I know the ghosts of babylon
Can never fly as fast
Or as far,
They can't find me

You're what is
You're the only peace I've known
And no matter where the hi-way leads
I'll never walk alone
'Cuz you took a wounded refugee
And made the world my home
You're what is
The Angel of the Road

And when my journey's over
When my trip is through
I'll throw my spirit on the wind
And hitch a ride with you....
