Were you aware that Amnesty International issued a travel advisory last month warning travelers considering coming to America. It wasn't about terrorism, but angry, agitated Americans with easy access to guns shooting one another, which appears to be the greater problem :

"As a response to the recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio that claimed the lives of 31 people last weekend, a human rights organization has issued a warning to all people traveling to the United States.

The Amnesty International advisory was announced "in light of ongoing high levels of gun violence in the country."

The advisory reads as follows:

IF YOU DECIDE TO TRAVEL TO THE UNITED STATES:
- Be extra vigilant at all times and be wary of the ubiquity of firearms among the population.
- Avoid places where large numbers of people gather, especially culture events, places of worship, schools, and shopping malls.
- Exercise increased caution when visiting local bars, nightclubs, and casinos.

The advisory also made note that certain people may be in greater danger of violence given their "gender identity, race, country of origin, ethnic background or sexual orientation."
None of this will be getting any better as long as people are walking the streets with assault weapons and political demagogues fuel their hatreds and spark their resentment for political gain.
I've never seen an assault weapon or even a look-alike on the streets.
And gun deaths are largely a function of being in the wrong place in
the wrong city. Of course, Amnesty Int'l can't give advice about that
cuz of, you know...racist!
Btw, they really should be advising about the dangerous roads.
I know that people overlook this because it doesn't make the news,
but our death rate is higher than many. Canuckistan is almost as bad.
