Tea Party groups, Americans for Prosperity and the Republican Party of Wisconsin are allegedly plotting a massive scheme to disenfranchise voters in Wisconsin this November.

Yeah, because Democratic Underground ran an article about it.

It's no secret, by the way, that the organizers of One Wisconsin Now have Democratic ties. What does that have to do with the evidence they present?

I saw claims, but I missed the evidence to back them up. Given the partisan source & a tone
suggesting the Tea Party is trying to torchify democracy, I'm a wee bit suspicious of their accuracy.
(Could this be the opening salvo for Obama's & the Democrat's PR offensive against Tea Partiers
(which was in a NYT article?) I'm sure both sides are doing their best to subvert the voting process.
    Meh....so what else is new?

So, you let your hunches and emotions guide you, rather than evidence and reason?

Well if Bush can do it, why not Wisconsin politicians?

Pardon me for skepticism when I see inflammatory claims accompanied by a lack of evidence & a preponderance of partisanship.

Not hard enuf, apparently.....& I've seen nothing about it in the regular media.
(Although I admit I've been doing a lot of welding & landscaping today....not much newsing around.)

Even if it is biased, we have seen that the Tea Party is overrun with very bad behavior. Racism is a really big one. Throwing bricks through someone's window was also pretty common after the health care bill. And now they are attacking Republicans who don't support the Tea Party candidates. So I really don't think voter harassment and/or fraud is outside of their methods.

Once again, you're trying to demonize the entire group by the actions of a few. Whatever political affiliation you have, I'll bet there are
some malefactors whom you'd find disgraceful. It seems you're just looking for things to hate about them, perhaps because their anti-gov't
agenda threatens you. Moreover, since most of them are white folk, it seems that you're taking advantage of that by hanging the "racist"
tag on them. That looks pretty racist....only anti-white folk, but racist nevertheless. Why not attack the issues instead of straw men?
This reminds me so much of fundies trying to paint scientist types as God-haters & immoral because of their support for evolution....citing
some horrible act by some someone somewhere as proof of their larger evil.

There's no need to demonize the entire group. It's been demonstrated that they have quite a few unsavory people in prominent positions. This thread is precisely about the actions of a few.

It seems you're willing to excuse anything they do because their anti-government agenda appeals to you.

That's blatantly dishonest. Anytime anybody recognizes incidents of overt racism in the Teabagger movement, you guys try to turn it around and pretend that it's "racist" to notice. It's pathetic.

It isn't necessarily demonizing them since we aren't talking about isolated incidents. We are talking about one bad apple after another, either the followers or the leaders. As for the Tea Parties racism, why cover it up? You don't have to look hard to find people throwing out the "n" word, waving racist signs, and attacks on Obama's race. I'm not calling the Tea Party racist because it is over overwhelmingly white, but because there has been one case after another of someone who has shown racist behavior.

Of course you are, but I'm sure you'd be jumping up if it was the other way around.

Actions of a few? Are you kidding? It's been a good bit of people from killing cops to throwing objects as someone else pointed out bricks. I can't stand this "both sides" do it crap. It's not always true. If you have the proof prove it. If you don't shut up about "both sides." It's a cop-out and a way for your side to not take personal responsibility and to get away with your crap. And it's not because they are "white folk." I'M white and can see their racism! Look at their signs. Look at what they say and do. THAT'S their racism. You're showing your true colors here. And no it's not the same thing as the fundies because this is based on EVIDENCE! Disgusting.

Geeze, man....get a grip. It's childish to call someone a liar over a mere disagreement. You don't see me
calling you dishonest over your goofy statements & beliefs....the same courtesy should extend to others.
If you don't want any sincere dissenting views, you could've put this thread in "Socialist Only" or "Liberal Only".
On top of that, I see all those Pinky posts, so this thread is looking too full of petulance to participate for the moment.
(I thought you lefties were supposed to be all about tolerance & reason.)

LOL! You're mistaken. I, speaking for myself, don't tolerate racism and bigotry. I don't care if you're the Pope or the Queen of England. If you're a racist and/or a bigot I don't tolerate it. But if you lie about something what does that mean? :thud:
