    Hey all :D

My mom is coming this weekend, and she suggested the idea that we get tattoo's together. I dont think i want to pass that opportunity up! ;)

The only thing is, I dont know what I should get or where I want it (though I'd like to be able to hide it.. and i'm not good with pain, so the smaller the better) I do want whatever I get to have religious meaning, preferably Gnostic.

So are any of you good with designing this kind of stuff? Any ideas for something unique?

    Thanks in advance :D

Is there a Gnostic symbol that you'd like forever on you? I'm not that familiar with Gnosticism, so I know I'm no help there. And shoulder blades seem to be the best place to get a small religious symbol.

What about a little panda, like the one in your avatar, with a Gnostic symbol on it's tummy?

I've always thought the back of a shoulder was discreet when it needed to be, and not discreet if you don't want it to be.

I'm partial to celtic knots, myself. Expecially triskel.

As much as you want to get a tattoo when your mom comes but don't have any idea what you want or where you want it, I would advise you to NOT get one until you know exactly what you want, where you want it, and have thought it over for a longer period of time (preferably a year, but if not, at least a significant number of weeks). It's probably not best to get a tattoo on a whim just because you may think it's great the day you get it, but soon your feelings change. I would wait until you find something you really want and have came to the conclusion after a while that it is something you really want permenently on your body.

I have thought about it a lot... but i need some ideas for exactly what design. I know it'll be on me for the rest of my life, and if i put it somewhere where you can see it all the time, i think i'll be happier with my decision.

i wont regret it if i find the right design ;)

That's also a good spot if you're worried about pain. It's much easier for most people to handle than lower back, chest, or stomach.

I've made all of my tattoo decisions within a month and I haven't regretted any of them. However, I do it for the love of the art itself as well as the meaning behind it. In this situation, it will be the memory of getting tattooed with her mom that will stick with her, I think. As long as she doesn't pick something randomly, the chances of regretting it are pretty slim. I must say though. A custom piece is an absolute must even for a small tattoo...don't pick something out of the flash.

Oh, well then nevermind my fun-spoiling ways! :D I thought you didn't have any idea at all. :sorry1:

I definately agree - though it's not always bad to look through the flash to see the kind of work a particular artist is able to do. But yeah, don't ever get something out of the flash. Not unique at all.

That is so cool! Whenever I ask my Dad to go with me to get our nipple’s pierced, he usually always has something scheduled for that day.

Here are two that are very stylish and do not have to be that big. If you can find a talented tatooist they can tatoo it small but also striking.

Why do you want a tat? Did you want one before your mom suggested it, or is this just a bonding opportunity?

I've thought about getting one because my religious beliefs mean so much to me that I'd like them printed on to remind me. I tend to forget, and I think this will help remind me. :)

Yes, it's also a bonding opportunity

Heh, oddly enough, I have both of those symbols tattooed on me :D

I'll get back to you on this, Ash, let me think about it.

PS. I got two new tattoos last night :D:
