Tantra is about maintaining meditative focus in high energy, even extreme, states.
Most meditators only practice in a quiet controlled environment.
That is fine for developing shamatha, but real life is not for fair weather sailors.

Tantra abandons the five Ms - Mamsa (Meat), Matsya (Fish), Madira (Liquor), Maithuna (Sex) and Mudra (Money). It does not have much to do with the physical world.
