Syriac Christianity

What is it? Wikipedia has Syriac Christianity as a seperate category from EOC and OOC. Is it Eastern Orthodox or Oriental Orthodox or Curch of the East or is it its own branch within Eastern Christianity?

The Syriac Orthodox church (West Syriac) is part of the Oriental Orthodox communion.

The Church of the East (East Syriac) is its own separate communion.

The Eastern Orthodox equivalent of the Syriac Orthodox church is the Antiochian Orthodox.
