A link from the OP's link....
Prof says feminists have ‘every right’ to ‘hate men’

  • The director of Northeastern University's Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program claims it is "logical to hate men," asserting that it is time for feminists "to go all Thelma and Louise...on their collective butts."
  • In her op-ed for The Washington Post, Suzanna Danuta Walters argues that men can only redeem themselves by pledging to "vote for feminist women only" and refusing to "be in charge of anything."
For those unfamiliar with the movie reference,
it's a call to murder men, & then commit suicide.

This is why feminism has negative connotations, and is associated more so with misandry than it is with egalitarianism.

Well, I suppose they do have the right to hate men. Everybody has a right to hate anybody they want.

But I don't think they appreciate all the things that men do.

Worth noting that this is not representative of most feminists.

Perhaps not, but it only takes a handful of outspoken kooky ones to tarnish the image.

I remember not too long ago there was a feminist denouncing SpaceX for "spreading patriarchy into space": Opinion | Marcie Bianco: After pillaging Earth, the patriarchy looks to colonize Mars

There was another feminist who decried paternity tests as being "anti-feminist": https://jezebel.com/5349395/are-paternity-tests-anti-feminist

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...

There's all sorts of crazy fringe members in all sorts of group. I know that the crazy outliers make for the most interesting and fun stories, but if they're not representative of the group, it's wrong all kinds of ways to treat them as representative.

Ya know what's interesting?
The man hating feminist of the OP would be allowed to post in the Feminist Only forum.
But a "libertarian feminist" is prohibited. So she does paint a larger picture.

I can't think of a single group, no matter how beneficial to society, that doesn't have its extremist and irrational elements, who usually also happen to be vocal and stubborn.

I see a lot of crucially important and desirable aspects to feminism. People like the misandrist professor in the OP are thankfully among the outliers in the greater scheme of things.

And a selfish, Ayn Rand-loving libertarian would be allowed to post in the Libertarian Only section, whereas a reasonable person who didn't identify as a libertarian wouldn't be.

The only picture that paints is reflective of the kinds of limits a specific online forum has on who can post in which forums. Trying to draw larger conclusions from it is overreaching and potentially prejudiced.

You're painting an inaccurate picture.
The Libertarian Only forum is an extremely large tent, allowing the "left" prefix to
"libertarian". This means that even self-identified socialists may post there, their
opposition to economic liberty, & advocacy for big government notwithstanding.
But "libertarian feminists" who favor gender equality with broad liberties, & minimal
regulation are not allowed in the Feminist Only forum.
One example is our allowing prostitution to be legal. I was specifically told that this
cannot be a feminist position. Thus it's about something other than basic equality.

As I recall from prior discussions, your views on equality & equity differ from mine.
So we will each see different pictures.
What I see is that fringe elements don't define a movement.
But reactions from the mainstream movement shed light on the whole

We can only hope that the nutters on both sides of this farce will kill each other and the survivors drive off a cliff. Or pedal a bike. Or run and jump. I don't care. These issues are easier to address with their hair trigger knee jerk reactions.

According to whom? There are some feminists against it, and some for it. I consider myself a feminist, and I'm for legalizing prostitution.

It would be awkward to say.
I suspect that your feminist cred is strong (albeit not with
the anti-MTF fringe), being young, female, & left leaning.

The problem is that they do tarnish the whole group. That is how people think It is why white supremacists are called out constantly by reasonable conservatives (and there are such creatures). It is why those on the left that are not insane do the same for antifa. It is why Islam is often criticized, because the higher Muslim bodies do not go after Muslim terrorists (a very small percentage of all Muslims).. One needs to clean ones own house, or at least try to, to have any legitimate complaints about others.
