Sucks to be an internet user in the EU. So much for fair use media.

According to one MEP here who voted differently than other conservatives, it might still effectively censor memes even if it isn't "intended to" because the machine learning algorithms might see the memes as potential copyright infringements. But you're right that they don't intend to move against memes. Same thing might happen to schools and their study materials...

No doubt it is a terrible law that could have numerous unintended consequences. Politicians tend not to have a great understanding of anything tech related.

Centralisation of regulations like this is one of the main problems of the EU. It makes people across Europe very vulnerable to business lobbies and other special interest groups who can work Brussels effectively.

Yes, I wouldn't worry too much (but let's keep our eyes open). This will spark creativity, protect ownership and I think many companies which produce games will choose to allow many gamers to do playthroughs, etc because that is part of the game's universe. If not, game companies that do allow online content may show a distinct market advantage.

The exemption was made later after push back

Seems a bit strange to introduce an exemption for the very thing you are trying to censor.

Just perhaps it wan't about censoring memes in the first place, but doing the bidding of big business.

Welfare state...... Totally a right-wing concept right

Actually...

The first welfare state in Europe was introduced by the notorious leftist Otto von Bismark. Welfare states were seen as a way to reduce support for socialism.

The Nordic welfare model, has at it's foundational piece conservative Lutheran (Christian) ideals. It's very different from US and Canada in regards to welfare.

He was also Lutheran so that factors in on the particular type of strong discipline, work ethic and taking care of one's own.

Foundation does not mean it can not evolve nor be used by other political parties.

Due to push back. You seem to skip over it was included to start with. There are also other issue such a streaming content.

Two goals can meet at a common point in establishing laws. Like I said I see this as a continuation of restricting freedom of the internet.

When you get the the 21st century let me know.

Let me guess, this push back was 'right wing'...

The goal to censor memes by exempting them from an IP law, got it.

When you get the the 21st century let me know.

The same thing was true in the 20th C, and involved other notorious lefties like Winston Churchill. So now Churchill and Bismark were both lefties as anyone who is in favour of any kind of welfare state is 'left' by definition.

And in the 21st C, right and centre-right parties still support some form of welfare state. So 19th-21st C you have right wing support for the welfare state, yet you claim any party who supports this can't be right wing.

So far:

You thought the bill was championed by the left. You were wrong.
You thought a law that specifically favours big business was 'left'. You were wrong.
You thought it censored memes. You were wrong.
You then tried to claim centre-right parties are actually left wing. You were wrong.
You then thought the welfare state in Europe was specifically a product of the left. You were wrong.

I'll leave this discussion at that because you don't seem to know what you are talking about but will keep on insisting it must have been the left because your ideological bias compels you to do so.

I do not use the site myself so have no idea. However I doubt it is alt-right as 4chan is older than the term you used.

It's older, but that's the sort of user base that's been fomented in recent years. I don't use it either but that's apparently the reputation it's garnered.

Viktor Orban and his party Fidesz are considered "far right" and they also voted in favor of it. Same with the Swedish and Danish anti-immigration "far right" MEPs

Is that reputation from the left? If so I would take it with a grain of salt.

No

After push back which you still ignored. More so article 11 makes it very easy for left organization like FB, Twitter and Youtube to shut down views they do not like

No it wasn't as those figures are decades removed from us now. Novel concept. People can use ideas from the past. Heard of it?

European politics has shifted from to the left so even rightwing parties are merely to the left of the normal spectrum

You thought the bill was championed by the left. You were wrong.

Nope as EU politics leans to the left in general.

You thought a law that specifically favours big business was 'left'. You were wrong.

No as it gives organizations like news media, which lean left by a majority, more control thus can undermine internet news

You thought it censored memes. You were wrong.

Except that was part of the plan until push back. A point you ignore

You then tried to claim centre-right parties are actually left wing. You were wrong.

Nope as EU politics has shift to the left in general.

You then thought the welfare state in Europe was specifically a product of the left. You were wrong.

Nope as I never said product. You are injecting words I never used. I am pointing out the welfare-state is a key platform of the left these days not the right.

Hilarious. You provided nothing of substance to counter my points. You had to go back a century to counter a point about modern politics. Amusing. Read article 11? Which political view does MSM endorse as a majority? Which legacy media is protected by this bill? What type of views rely upon the internet to communicate it views? Come on think about for more than 5 seconds.
