Stone gets a 3-year sentence Trump says he may pardon him. Since Trump is using all his power to usurp any decision made from judges. Is that trowing your power around?

    I will get the source.

    Perhaps Trump will.
    Perhaps he won't.

However, given that the left wing presidents have done a WHOLE lot more pardoning of people than Trump has, I don't see where any of you have any gripes coming....unless of course you think that the power of POTUS to pardon should be limited only to Democrats?

I do hope they put Americans through all the muck again and again and again. Show the world how redundant and useless they actually are.

Why don't you deal with the here & now instead of deflecting back, especially since the president's pardoning power is not really in question with the OP?

To answer it myself, I do believe that Trump will likely pardon Stone, which is his legal right, but it will then show us that he is very willing to defend those whom are loyal to him regardless what they may do but then throw those whom are not willing to be his sock-puppet under the bus in a heartbeat-- much like other autocrats have done.

BTW, long before Trump took power, I felt that the presidential pardoning power needed to be amended because it's been overused and all too often for the wrong reasons.

I understand that the power to pardon is written into the Constitution, but it's something I sometimes wish were not. I mean, what President pardons the little schmuck from Schenectady that nobody's heard of, who was railroaded at trial? No, it seems to be reserved only for the rich and powerful, who used their wealth and power improperly.

There is something that feels really tawdry about that, to me.

Actually, the little schumck from Schenectady gets pardoned by his governor. He doesn't need to go to POTUS.

And I'm a lot more disturbed by his commutation of Blog whatsisname....and that wasn't a pardon, but a clemency and 'time served,' with the two year supervised probation still in force.

I rather think that Trump's possible pardoning of Stone is a WHOLE lot more acceptable than, say, Clinton's pardoning of FLAN, the sixteen people who went around blowing up things and killing folks. Something about executive privilege being pulled in order to keep Clinton from having to hand over documents?

But hey, he hasn't pardoned Stone, and frankly, I think if he messes with the idea at all, it will be a sentence commutation, not an outright pardon. However, I have no reason to predict this thing one way or the other.

I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of people criticizing Trump for something he hasn't done yet, and even if he DOES, is not only well within his rights, but something done by the Democrats many, many more times than Trump has.
