States vs. "Woke" Corporations

Conservatives are always the first to take freedoms away
Yep, as we've seen over and over again, they usually talk-the-talk but don't walk-the-walk.
Oh, you guys....do you ever research any of these broad
claims of superiority of your side over the evil other?
Let's consider SCOTUS's creation of qualified immunity
for cops. We lost the right to sue for misconduct.

What do you think the political affiliation makeup
of the majority opinion justices is?
This case is just the tip of a very unexpected iceberg
made up of rights abridged, eg, civil forfeiture.

Go woke, go broke.....
If this were true then why wouldn't conservatives just let the market take its course instead of actively legislate against this? They're all for business rights when it comes to denying service to LGBT customers (gay wedding cakes), but if a business wants to support LGBT rights, conservatives now want to use the law to punish them.
What about freedom?

Well that was Saints row 3 and hey, that sex toy was an awesome weapon!

No, here's the woke Saints Row I'm talking about....

I don't want to waste 10 minutes listening to someone mumble. Cut to the chase and give us the gist. Was it because it had a protagonist that wasn't strait, white, or male?

The new SR was a buggy mess. Don’t know what’s “woke” about it though. I mean the series from 2 onwards let’s you create whatever character you want. Including the woke women.
Is it because the gang were more upfront about their political beliefs? Because they wanted to pay off student loans?
Honestly it just seems like a buggy glitchy game

So a company against bigoted laws is somehow woke? I'd wager the majority of people are against the laws. How does this affect you?

Isn't that their right? So the company should be forced to invest in the fossil fuel industry? How does this affect you?

A company can't choose to make whatever vehicles they want? How does this affect you?

What's next? A company claiming the Earth isn't flat is woke?
Doesn't all of this boil down to manufactured outrage from RW politicians?
The reality is, anything conservatives don't like they'll deem "woke." Any topic, anything.
Seems petty and childish.
Exactly. It's just like what they did with the term "socialism"; they turned it into a lazy slur that simply refers to anything conservatives don't like or understand.
For example, Cracker Barrel was deemed "woke" for offering plant based sausage patties as a limited time menu option.

It doesn't as I don't live in the US. It only may potentially affect me as trends in the US tend to swap over to Europe. Though in the current climate it would more likely be the non woke companies which may suffer. There are already regulations that force companies to adhere to some basic decency to get a government contract.
Do you know what woke is?

Depends on who you ask. But you can take what I wrote in the post you answered to: "adhering to some basic decency".
I believe that it originally meant an awareness of systematic racism, but now "woke" = laws against public smoking, acknowledging the existence of gay people, ecological conservation, opposing sexual harassment, etc.

There is nothing in that video about anything "woke" though (I suffered through it so others don't have to :) ).

It's just a commentary on other people's reviews and (largely legitimate) complaints about bugs and general bad quality of the game. Somewhat ironically, given it's mentioned as an influence, it's really just a lesser version of the issues Cyberpunk had on release (probably for the same kind of reasons).

It sounds like this guy is one of the ones who moaned about the game being "woke" before it was released, just based on the pre-marketing, and is now trying to pretend that was proven legitimate because the game isn't technically very good.

It's just some of the examples you give, particularly in regards to environmentalism, seem more like RW caricature examples, especially considering profits are the primary drive of those corporations. And they'll keep doing that, even if it means endorsing slavery if it comes back or building a monument to L Ron Hubbard if the Scientologists take over.

What I really don't get with complaints of public smoking bans, Indiana of all places, a state packed full of smokers and those who don't accept the responsibility freedom comes with, Indiana, the Northernmost Southern State, banned it so what in the hell is everybody else's excuse?

It's because one side is clearly intolerant against the other.

Smoking rooms weren't good enough for these people. They had to ban it all.
