what is a spiritual death? losing one's mind to reason? or denying unconditional love?

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

I believe that both soul and body dies after death and a person's energies (our spirits) are alive only by what and who we leave behind. When we are lost or forgotten, we have died spiritually. We no longer exist.

I feel we can create good spirits or harness spirit-ual vitality when we are open to give and receive (and so forth). Spiritually dead, no. Deflated maybe but can be revived by action in this life; there is no next.

I qoute this notion now and then

    but more like.....
do not fear anyone who would harm the flesh.....but rather...
fear He, who is able to rend the soul

but I think we are on the same page

we know to well our thoughts and feelings can be difficult to deal with
    strife and grief can disable

but once the flesh has been surrendered......you have your dreams
    and not much else

    what if the entry?.....the Door....
    is not guarded

An example would be, IMHO, those who succumb to a rigid scientism. It is something I suffered from for most of my life but no longer, thank God.

I vote for dying on account of too many spirits. e.g. a vodka overdosis.

    I suspect.....

that we are NOT able to escape the body at will
    there is a serious possiblity
we follow the body into the box........and into the grave

no form of light follows anyone into the grave

    no sunlight
    no moonlight
    no candle light
    no philosophical light

    really is dark down there

    eternal darkness is real

I believe we are alive by who and what we leave behind. After awhile people forget about us. If or when they do, we cease to exist.

I don't understand. What do you mean by cannot man be spiritual?

Spiritual death is not something the Bible teaches.

The idea is invented by man to explain what happened to Adam after he sinned. They say that Adam died
    spiritually.
However, according to the Bible, Adam's eyes were opened whereby he knew what he had done was bad(evil). He was able to see his nakedness.

The ability to SEE(recognize) what is bad and what is good is not to be spiritually dead!

The words or idea of being "spiritually dead" cannot be found in Scripture.

I'm kinda into the bread and the wine. Proof the body is not life and calming the fear of death. It'd be great to know the actual disposition of our "selves" after what we call death. Gotta hunch there's a "great gulf" though. Guess I'll find out in a bit, or not.

if there is no spiritual life......there is no God

then Man is a complete mystery.....with no resolve
    no purpose
    extinction pending

If God is spirit.....and I believe so
then we are formed in flesh to become unique spirit
that is what happens with each ocassion of a body

you were made to become a unique spirit.....and flesh is the means of doing so

the shell will dry up and crumble
what stands from the dust is the .....spirit

Anything like that is not true death but wandering off the path and having to find one's way back in this or a future life.

The real "death" is to experience the Oneness of the limited self with the Self that is all and everything. "We must die to self to live in God. Thus death means life"

I believe we are both body/flesh and soul/identity. I don't see the different...one divine and one not. The soul is abstract. The brain or head is it's "seat."

I believe that each living person, being, and inanimate thing all are energies. I guess you can say it's god but I don't view it as a creator but spiritual vitality of the body and soul. The feeling when you "get it."

In that sense, yes. Everything and every living is spirit-ual. There's no life after death. One life just once our bodies die, it depends on if people want to hold on to us.

I think that's why relationships are important. Whether it be Christ, self, others, or loved ones we all experience others spirits just it dont profound unless someone is very sensitive or doing grieving the doors open.

We do have purpose without a concept of a creator. I just find maybe some are looking outward to define themselves internally. Some others it's the reverse. Depends, I guess. I never believed in Any creator and never entrained the idea. So, that's foreign.
