I have an uncle who was deeply involved in the
cultural revolution, and, in his head, still is.
Thinks the revolution was sold out.

Best not to get him started! It is for sure a kind
of alternate reality or universe thing.

Deciding which ideas are allowed and which aren't is dangerously close to a world I'd rather not live in. And it's certainly not up to anyone on this forum to dictate. Who can decide what is an 'unrealistic religious concept' on a forum designed for discussing religious concepts?

Then surely you must agree that no one has to submit to your expectations of what qualifies as religious - or fails to?

Absolutely not. But this is a forum for discussing any and all religious ideas. Who can say what should or should not be discussed or is 'too inclusive'? That's absurd.

    Hardly.

    If anything, it is unavoidable.

We all judge what is worth of our consideration and what qualifies for various conceptualizations. That is how the human mind works.

"Any and all" religious ideas is as empty a qualification as they come.

Sometimes, this place can be a bit too much, so it's good to take a break once in a while.

I happen to think Buddhism is an absurd religious idea. And Satanism. I guess I am within my rights to throw a hissy fit because they are being discussed here?

Not at all what I said. Not at all what I feel I am "doing." I'm "in the trenches" with all of you goons - fighting to keep my side of the story told. Not trying to save the world... just trying to preserve a slice of it I think is worthwhile to preserve. Same as you. Or are you trying to save humanity? Hahaha... come on now @Thief... you know you are.

Not one to really care about a revolution. Just trying to keep a hold on and share what I feel is right. Anyone can challenge me, anyone can disagree. I fully understand and expect it. Which is precisely why I say I am good for the trenches. I simply am. I understand "quid pro quo" and "what's good for the goose" all too well. You'll never hear me complaining. Unless you count argumentation as complaining... and then yeah... I "complain" all the damn time.

my comment was in partial response to this-
...... then you're forced to face the ultimately devastating reality - that those people you are talking to probably feel pretty much the same way about YOU.

Not crazy about revolution myself tho I hope against
hope that the one in HK has some sort of success.
I am going back there on Monday, actually.

Yes, when you see a cause as particularly worthy, that's obviously when its time to root for your team - or even join the ranks. And my comment was more about knowing that the sorts of things we're talking about in this particular thread aren't in what I feel is such dire "jeopardy" within my own limited scope of livelihood for me to "take up arms" so to speak. It's not about going to "war" for me so much as it is about getting others to ask questions and expect better answers.
