This is the far right nationalist - and probable KGB political plant - who has been whipping up thuggish nationalism in Russia for the past 30 years. Seems Putin had the cathedral specially cleared so he could pay his respects to the corpse in person:

I remember many years ago a Russian politician being quizzed on TV about the "political phenomenon" of Zhirinovksy. He replied laconically that "Zhirinovsky is not a political phenomenon. He is a medical phenomenon."

Amusingly it turns out that Zhirinovsky's real name, all his antisemitic tirades notwithstanding, was Vladimir Volfovich Eidelshstein - he had a Jewish father, who emigrated to Israel!

Anyway, good riddance - good job he's dead at last.
