Socialist AOC can't stand it when straight people want a pride parade of their own.

Speaking as a progressive liberal I find it disgusting and disturbing that those who claim to be "liberal" have shown such animosity and bigotry against people who simply wanted to celebrate their heterosexuality.

I mean the "Straight pride" parade was filled with holocaust deniers and religious bigots.
It's not a pride movement, it's a regressive anti-lgbt rally, dressed up in a way to seem neutral.

A damning account of what really happened at Boston’s Straight Pride

I'd take these connections with a grain of salt, but only because I know the criteria of the leftist media in establishing them. All you have to do to be connected to a right wing, white nationalist, or other meme group is stand in the same building as them or talk to them once. It's a silly assertion and a loose connection at best -- everyone here would likely qualify by that criteria just communicating with someone online with those views.

More likely than not most of the real attendees of the event were just having a laugh of it -- though, I have no aversion to the concept anyway. I'm fine with anyone having any event they'd like so long as they're not hurting anyone physically.

Except when these events are organized by groups with links to white supremacists movements, they are often done so with the actual intention of stirring up violence. A lot of the time that's the point: organize a deliberately ridiculous march in order to rile up opposition and generate violence and antipathy. It's a well-known strategy of fascist and white supremacist groups - they incite violence, and when violence occurs they blame it all on the left.

That is what it was about, I don't put much stock in biased "air claims" and invisible ideas from anti- straight bigots.
Uh huh.

That's why there were "Trump 2020" and Israel flags at the event. Clearly, no political agenda there. Just a celebration of... Being straight.

Come on - you can't possibly be this naive.

Ahh.. the "White Supremacist boogeyman" under the bed nibbling at the toes supposedly stirring up violence by what? A march of people celebrating their sexuality. We could say that civil rights protestors were stirring up violence because some people were angry at them for protesting.

I invoke the spirit of Martin Luther King when I say I have a dream that one day little straight boys and girls can live alongside little gay boys and girls each one with no fear of hatred or violence against the other.

.

So that's what did it, the Trump thing...

There are political flags and signs at Pride marches too, if you agreed with the politics I imagine it wouldn't be an issue to you.

You realize that white supremacists exist, right?

They did a whole march. A march that ended in violence and three people dead. Four white supremacists were arrested and plead guilty to inciting violence during it.

Remember that? This isn't some vague, ill-defined enemy like "cultural Marxism" or "the deep state". It's an actual thing that happened. With actual people.

A march of people celebrating their sexuality.
Except they weren't, because that's blatantly not what it was about. Look at the march.

We could say that civil rights protestors were stirring up violence because some people were angry at them for protesting.
So you agree it was a "protest", not a celebration of being straight?

I invoke the spirit of Martin Luther King when I say I have a dream that one day little straight boys and girls can live alongside little gay boys and girls each one with no fear of hatred or violence against the other.
Sure you do. Maybe you should decry people marching in lockstep with white supremacists and ultra-nationalists, then.

And the Israel thing, and the political speakers thing, and the fact that nobody who attended the rally was remotely "celebrating" anything rather than just trolling, and the fact that the event was organized by a political group with ties to white supremacists.

There are political flags and signs at Pride marches too, if you agreed with the politics I imagine it wouldn't be an issue to you.
Care to show me images of a gay pride parade that has political signs as ubiquitous as at this event? Also, that don't actually have people advancing the cause of gay rights and pride?

You've openly called the far-right "noble" and applauded US rigging elections in Latin America to serve far-right political parties.
You're not a progressive liberal, you're far-right.

I'll be the third person to say as much as well. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Actually I was laughing at the fact the U.S. did rig elections in Latin America to the benefit of the right because that is exactly what was claimed the Russians did in this country and we saw how that turned out. Also, Obama backed far- right Nationalists and White Supremacists in the Ukraine and supported political violence.

According to anti straight bigots sure.
Please tell me you're not serious.

We see this over and over, there is always supposedly some underlying motive that we can see if we only look for it.
Look at the damn march. You don't need to look hard. Look at the ruddy thing!
