This is horrible, of course. How dare Democrats take even a step down this path to ruin. The sordid details: Swedish citizen stuns Americans with post about Nordic life | Daily Mail Online Some of the details are hidden so as not to disturb people who are easily bothered by such images.

(I am of course trolling)

Could you do the same comparison in a real socialist country.....let's say N Korea?
N korea isn't socialist. It was back under Kim il Sung, but failed implementation as it became an authoritarian monarchy. Since the workers don't own the means of production, it's no more socialist than any other absolute Monoarchy. It's also no less capitalist than anywhere else (including the Nordic countries). It's just state capitalism, where formerly 'black market' economic transactions are now part of the DPRK constitution. Though how much of that aspect has been implemented is unknown due to the obfuscation of their economic dealings.

Still, N Korea is no more socialist than Norway.

Right...Norway, with a market economy is socialist.
N Korea, with a command economy is....uh...anything but socialist.
Norway, the Us and N Korea all have a mixed economy. Which is explained in the omitted parts of the post.
But you know what else had a command economy? Medieval European monarchies which, guess what? Weren't ****ing socialist. Lol

Well, if medieval monarchies weren't socialist,
then modern dictatorships cannot be, eh.
This might help....
North Korea - Wikipedia
"According to article 1 of the constitution of North Korea, the DPRK is an "independent socialist State".[n 3][18]"

According to the same document, its a democratic republic.

Also, the democratic socialists have been the party in power in Sweden for over a decade now. So I guess I'll accept your concession that Sweden is socialist. :)

This disgusts me. Our UK public health service is thankfully being sold off to private companies, salami slice style.

And they do pretend to have elections.
But that is a governmental system, not economic.
Although authoritarian regimes do correlate with socialism.

Norway isn't the most capitalist country around, but it ranks
ahead of even clearly capitalist Japan for economic liberty.
Country Rankings: World & Global Economy Rankings on Economic Freedom
USA has fallen to 17th place, behind more capitalistic
Canuckistan, UK, & Denmark.

Only in the low education red scare US mentality.

I don't recognize the heritage foundations take on pretty much anything.

But, I corrected my post before you posted this. I misremembered but its Sweden that the democratic socialists have been in power, not Norway.
But really North Korea isn't any more socialist than them, either. As, despite what the constitution names them, the constitution has also authorized capitalist enterprises, thereby making it a mixed economy.

Of course.
Not Wikipedia either, eh.

Behavior matches their constitution, ie, command economy,
with government controlling the means of production
