And that’s all the time it takes to alter lives forever. Today there’s a funeral for yet another fallen firefighter who became the ninth killed in the last 20 years. Lt. Jason Menard, his wife and three children were planning a trip to Disney World. As a ‘thief in the night’ comes to mind.

Very sad, and we should never forget to give tons of credit to all the men and women who protect us and our loved ones every day of the year.

No greater love than to sacrifice ones life for another. But what angers me is the lack of responsibility to let it be known that you made it out and are safe. They were attempting to rescue a mother and baby who were no there. The same with the fire that took the lives of six firemen. It was an empty warehouse no longer in use and it was decided to contain it and let it burn when a fellow who owned a close by diner informed the officials that he knows of two homeless people who shelter there. Again the two had fled the fire after tipping over a candle. Never bothered to tell anyone no one inside.
