To me, in my heart, world peace already exists. All humanity are my family and all are welcomed and loved. I accept all religions as true and I meditate and pray in pagodas, temples, churches, mosques and synagogues because they are all places for the spirit. To me there is no difference except that of beauty in the different races, nationalities and religions.

When we can all accept each other the way we are with our faults, shortcomings and differences then we can have peace.

Yes it will, one day (hopefully soon)!

The Prophet Daniel, when seeing in vision a succession of beasts representing world powers...after the last one he envisioned, he wrote what’s recorded at Daniel 2 verse 44.
IOW, a world government that will fulfill the Lord’s Prayer , Matthew 6:9-10. With conditions as described @ Revelation 21:3-4.

    Interesting question.

Why isn't there world peace without asking? If there's an omnipotent, omniscient god in charge then war must accord with his or her or its or their will, no?

So asking for world peace, asking for anything to be changed, whether or not on humanitarian or empathetic grounds or in the name of common decency, must necessarily fail, since the status quo is the perfect expression of God's will, no?

The alternatives are that God is benevolent but not omnipotent, or omnipotent but not benevolent, or neither (at which point the saying attributed to Epicurus adds,. 'so why call him God?') or that God does not exist outside of individual human imagination.

Oh, or that God's benevolence and omnipotence can be expressed through the death of or physical or other injury to large, sometimes huge, numbers of innocent folk for some unspecified and unspecifiable 'greater good' ─ a bit of rationalizing I dare say no jury would accept were you or I to try it (or if you or I were on the jury).

    Have I overlooked anything?

It's a good sentiment. I think we get peaks and valleys on violence and at least praying about peace puts people in the right frame of mind.

The apostle John said that whatever we ask "according to God's will", he hears us. Perhaps that is the key.....knowing what the will of God is regarding world peace. (1 John 5:14) Why did we lose it after such an idyllic beginning.....and how do we get it back?

The desire of most people is for world peace, but apparently only if it doesn't require anything from them....its a bit like watching the earth choking on plastic and no one doing anything to stop them manufacturing it, nor doing anything to actively clean up the mess. Surely, whoever made the mess is under obligation to clean it up. Yet no one is.

My local supermarket is still selling produce and other products wrapped in non biodegradable plastics.

So if God has the power, (and we know he does) why is there no peace in the world? Most people don't understand why he holds back.
In the beginning, according to Genesis, the serpent and the first humans began a rebellion, which started when the serpent implied that God was badly motivated and was holding back something that humans needed. He accused him of lying to them.

To slander God in such a way was unforgivable, but the actions of those three rebels, set in motion the greatest object lesson that humans and angels will ever experience. Because of abusing free will, God had rebellion in both camps that eventually spread to others. Eliminating the rebels would not have addressed the issues....was God the rightful Sovereign over mankind, or were they better off making their own choices and decisions independently?

Was the "knowledge of good and evil" something that would benefit mankind? Would humans fare better if they could decide for themselves what was good and what was evil? There was only one way to settle this....allow the rebels to prove their case. So God stepped out of the picture and allowed the humans the independence they desired, and he allowed the serpent to have the power he wanted to be their god as well. How has that turned out for all concerned?

How many forms of self rule have humans tried? Have any of them worked for the good of all?
Do dictatorships result in good government? What about Monarchies?....Oligarchies?......Nazism?.....Communism.....Socialism....Fascism?.....Democratic rule? What always happens? The minute you give humans power over other humans, it always corrupts them. We are not designed to rule each other....we are designed to be ruled by our Creator.

At the end of this exercise, God will have allowed humans to prove beyond a doubt that they cannot rule themselves without him....and that the devil is a lousy god. Only then can free will become the gift it was meant to be...instead of the curse it became.

When Jesus taught us to pray for "God's Kingdom to come" and for his "will to be done on earth as it is in heaven".....that is what we are praying for.....for God's rulership to come back to this earth where it should have been all along. With this exercise complete and precedents set for all time to come, humans can get on with what God put them here to do....to take care of his creation whilst he takes care of business elsewhere.

God does not tell us what is to be beyond his purpose for this earth becoming a reality....but its a vast universe.....and with his power and no limitations...who knows what he has planned for it? The question is...will we be around to see it....and to enjoy the fruits of his labor and the reward for our faithfulness and loyalty?

That is how I see things.....praying for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven is not depending on man to bring it about, but depending on God, who always finishes what he starts. (Isaiah 55:11)

How come? "let your will be done" do you think peace is what God intends? You don't think he intended for things to be the way they are?

From reading the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, it is evident that God's will for mankind and the earth, and of course heaven, was eternal peace, and this is what will be, because he wills it, and we can see that he has begun the process to bring it to a realization.

There are hundreds of scriptures - probably over a thousand or more - that show God's will from the beginning, and what he has been doing to work it out. Here is just a tiny fraction...
    Genesis 22:18; Isaiah 9:6, 7; Daniel 7:13, 27; Ephesians 1:8-10; Revelation 12:10-12; 20:1-21:8

These facts are so clearly evident in the harmony of all the scriptures - from Abraham (or further back) to Jesus and his apostles, that I am amazed that persons do not see this as undeniable evidence that the Bible is indeed divinely inspired.

I believe there will be eternal peace on earth - not by man's will, but God's. I believe this because, to me, beyond any doubt, the Bible contains the truth.

Do you have any idea who this messiah might be? How will you know when you see a budding messiah? Not meaning to sound flip, just curious since Jews tend to see the messiah as a human that will help lead people out of oppression, right?

I hate to say it, but the fundamentalists of the Abrahamic religions do not want world peace, they want world domination and are using their god as justification. What can we do to stop the current and future violence? :confounded:

Maybe Mankind is asking for something that they themselves need to achieve. Possibly it can be viewed as having a garbage can beside you within reach (and ability and knowledge of how it trash and a garbage can work) and replying for a person across the room to dispose of your trash for you. I believe most logical individuals would find this offensive or insulting. Simply said; why would you want to hurt, harm, kill, maim anyone just because they do not believe in the same things you do. Enough is enough when it comes to the stupidity and infidelity involved with people being killed just for being different from another person.

The Messiah is present on earth today and she is waiting for a prophetic dream. We will know who the Messiah is when she comes with power. There will be three judgments by fire. 1) VWD Day (Vengeance, Wrath. and Destruction). All the Messiah's enemies will be cut off. Psalm 37:20, Psalm 97:3. 2) Judgment Day. The wicked and the guilty will be cut off. This will affect 97% of earth's inhabitants. Isaiah 24:6. 3) Decision Day, which will be around the time the Messiah is executed by Christians. The heathen and all idolaters/Christians will be cut off. Joel 3. Zechariah 14:12. At the time of the resurrection, there will be about 100 million people left on earth to witness the resurrection. Daniel 7:10.

Love and peace are the same, they're both opposites to hate, and they're both bonded and sealed.

There is a time for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:8. The God of Abraham is here and she will bring everlasting peace to the earth. The righteous of all faiths will be gathered together and they will triumph over the wicked. Psalm 35:27.

Yes, we may or rather we must pray that G-d help us to create peace and justice and to alleviate poverty in the world. The world is in danger for plunging into a nuclear World War, which is just suicidal for the humanity.

Interesting. You have obviously been studying. Any book references or help with translations of the OT?

There are a lot of scriptures in the OT that identify the God of Israel/Messiah as a woman. She is referred to in the scriptures as a "travailing woman". Jeremiah 30:6. She is the cornerstone of the Temple. Isaiah 28:16, Psalm 118:22, Psalm 144:12. She is the wife of God (Energy). Isaiah 54:5-6. God has breasts and a womb. Zechariah 6:1. "Mountains of brass". This verse means it came from the heart and it ended the Cold War. Zechariah 6:8. "Out of whose womb came the ice?" Job 38:29. The serpent is a phallic symbol of power, so is the horn. A "little horn" is a woman. Job 16:15, Daniel 7:8. The Messiah will be made as a lamb for a sin offering. Isaiah 53:7, Isaiah 53:10. This offering must be female. Leviticus 4:32, Malachi 1:14. Isaiah 66:7-8, Jeremiah 33:16.
