Shamans?

Are there any shamans here, regardless of the area from? I have a few specific questions for them, especially South American Shamans....

Hm... Do you mean shamans in the sense of those that they serve a group of people spiritually or simply ones who consider themselves shamanic?

I guess I'd say the term I am looking for would compare to a Native American medicineman. One who uses their gifts/knowledge to serve others spiritually, one who knows the ways of old as handed down, one who knows the "medicines" of the area, etc...

Though anybody with Shamanistic beliefs of the spirit world might help a bit...

My nijii had a few answers, but not quite what I am looking for.

I personally wouldn't trust anyone claming to be a "medicine man" or somesuch... ;)

I try to walk the Native path, I'm no expert but if you have any questions I can try to help where I can.

Lots of nations have very different views on the same subjects, just to warn you.

Anin Niijii!!!

The "Native Path" is called the Red Road by most... just the term that seems to suit all Native Americans anyway. I am well aware of the different views: as I am part Ojibwe, related to the Sioux, and grew up in the land of the Navajo! Ha ha ha, much the mixture there. You need not warn me of those things

Are there any South Americans here? It is regards to those beliefs I ask of. (We should so find a way to expand this forum) Maybe you can PM me or I will you to discuss other matters, such as:

Who should be allowed to "vision quest"?

My Niijii who is the grandson of a very well respected medicineman of the First Nations gave me some advise, but I also know how it is.... as does he. Mixed bloods are not tolerated on most reservations, which is where most of those that know things live. Thus, the ways may be doomed.... regardless of the prophecy of those that will return to the Red Road..... they keep us out.......
