Namaste friends! I hope all of you are doing well. Was wondering if anyone here had any recommendations for books related to Shaktism, especially ones focused on devotion to Kali?

Chandi Path and Devi Gita are pretty good. There's loads of translations as well, I think I have two or three separate Chandi Path books? I've definitely got one from the Ramakrishna Mission and a more academic text I was recommended for chanting.

The Gospel of Shri Ramakrishna details the life of a Shakta Saint from Bengal. He still has a very big impact on the world through his disciples, primarily Swami Vivekananda.

I downloaded the Gospel of Shri Ramakrishna, looking forward to reading it.

A good source of understanding Shakti is the Devi BhAgwat purAN.
That and Devi Mahatmya from MArkanDeya purAN, which may or may not lead you to the rahasya-trayam that says Mahalakshmi is the Goddess who became all Devis.

If I may ask, why are people in the Western world so specific about Kali , when it is really one of Shakti's multiple forms?

Kali is a form taken by the Devi. All 10 mahavidyas , all forms of Devi are the Devi Herself. MahaLakshmi, MahaSaraswati, MahaKali, Durga, are the same Devi.

I can't speak for everyone in the West, but I know for me, I loved the writings of Sri Ramakrishna, and I fell in love with Maa in the form of Kali. I know She can take many forms...I personally just feel drawn to Kali. I can't really explain it any more than I can explain why I am drawn to Shivji. I just am, for some reason? I am not sure if that helped.

    Yes, it does help.
I only asked out of curiosity.
KAli is beyond kAl, time and hence Bramh. In BG chapter 11 Shri KRshNa says kAlosmi, I am time , in other words beyond time, and have come here to become the time-factor in people's lives.

So like in your case, the Gospel of Ramkrishna , through the Ramkrishna Mission, introduced Goddess in the form of KAlikA to people in the West.

The other factor was adoption and syncretism by the New Agers.

By the way, I made a correction in my post above -- I meant to say Rahasya trayaM,
not tripura rahasya -- the latter is another text by DattAtreya through His disciple who, it was prophesied, will compile the teachings of Datta.
