There is nothing wrong with attemting to ammend a problem you are a part of. It's that "right thing to do" that people talk about. Quitting and giving up at the first sign of trouble and not even attempting to fix the problem is disgraceful and an indication of a very weak and poor character who is utterly void of integrity.
Hmmm... I’m not so sure it’s an absolute to stay and help fix the problem... Sometimes the right decision IS to resign .... and that has been called for in many ministers and even presidents.
Perhaps we are talking across each other on this topic! In the UK (London) a (female) Fire Chief was responsible for the APPALLING LACK OF RESPONSE to a tower block blaze that killed nearly 90 people... There were calls for her immediate resignation (and loss of pension, etc ... though these high ups rarely lose out on BIG PAY OUTS despite their resignation!!!! There will be SOMETHING written in their contract to sustain them !!)
However, she attempted to ‘Stay and help fix the problem!’... She WANTED TO HELP and put right the wrongs of HERSELF and her organisation... The public outcry was UNANIMOUS: ‘out ... ouT.... oUT ... OUT ...!!’
Sad to say, I’m not acquainted with the outcome but the public sure made their voice known on what they thought her decision should be (no.1, above!!)
My mind says that her attempt to stay was simply based on ‘Saving face’ and her pension!!!
