Schools in Utah ban Bible for 'vulgarity and violence'

Hello forum,

don't know whether this has caught the attention of the Satire Ministry yet.

A school district in the US state of Utah has removed the Bible from elementary and middle schools for containing "vulgarity and violence".
The move follows a complaint from a parent that the King James Bible has material unsuitable for children.
Utah's Republican government passed a law in 2022 banning "pornographic or indecent" books from schools.

This is just one district, though. It will be a gesture to point up the absurdity of the book banning laws a number of Republican states are introducing. Sits well with their attacks on “cancel culture”………not……

I would love to see Democrats now advocating a Bible being placed in every school.

Seems right. After all, it's pretty nasty to read of men offering their daughters for a gang rape and tying his son down to an alter to kill him as a sacrifice to god and the other ways these righteous men who abuses traumatized their children in order to please their god.

The USA was built on religious freedom so that move may be unconstitutional. The pendulum is swinging the other way and the Left is not on defense. Not too long ago they had their bible out of all schools using twisted constitutional logic.

If for secular reasons that apply to other literature are used,
then it would likely be found constitutional to keep the Bible
away from children. If violence, hatred, murder, & sex are
reasons to ban books, the reasons should apply to all.

It was built on many freedoms but conservative Christians and Republicans are TERRIBLE when it comes to respecting the rights of others. They love censorship and banning books and the Bible getting banned is a logical result of their crusade because it is far more atrocious, violent, sexually depraved and abusive towards children than the stuff the conservatives get banned.

That's the most you've said to me in a single post in this thread, and still there's no actual rebuttal, no real claims, no evidence, no substance. Just running your mouth and say I said it like a dem. Ok. You say things like a two cent troll.

Thank you so much for that well thought out ad hominem attack.

Seems to me a good idea to have the Authorised Version in a school library. So many literary references to bible verses appear throughout English literature that it is a basic reference text.

Enh. If Robert Burns is optional, the Bible should be too, IMO.
