I want to apply for a scholarship but I have no references (no professor. no non-relative who can vouch for my professionalism).

No boss who can for my academic professionalism, no friends who can, and no strangers who can guess. I've been out of high school for centuries and I don't have healthy relationships (almost got the property directer fired) with my last college; and, the rest of the professors wasn't my professors in almost 13 years (half left the school for as one said, it paid more).

That's quite the thing that's holding me back.

Is there other reference options or another way to go about getting scholarships?

I'll look. Are there any that have no references? Is that a base requirement for all scholarships?

All have references? I'm sure not all scholarships are for those who have friends and living family and a perfect job. I'd assume.

I'm already in college. Its online for a four year. The only reference I'd have are my current counselors and professors. Everyone else has died, moved, a stranger, or have legal issues that don't quite set me up in getting a recommendation. I'm far far out of high school and not rich.

My school is working with me. I was wondering if you guys heard of such a thing. Insight.

Depends on the scholarship. That is why on the second link you should look at the requirements. Some you need to write on a subject, some you need to write about yourself it just depends.

I looked at "a lot" of them. Some ones are from my school as well. There are thousands of scholarships. The ones I need have higher requirements since I'm not "just coming out of high school" type of thing. I did my research but wanted to know if the references are base line requirements since it's hard to read every scholarship, add them up, and see if they have a pattern.

Regarding references are you referring to professors and/or a supervisor that can vouch for you or your work?

No. I have no professors for over ten years. They left jobs or I have legal issues with them. My employer knows nothing about me (not full-time). I have no employee friends. I've only been in class for one semester (five week courses) to build relationships with current teachers; they are all online. My friend doesn't know my academic performance. My family can't and they are relatives nonetheless.

Well that is a little difficult as it will limit much of what you can apply for. Some scholarships will let you write essays on a selected topic and depending on how well written it is, you may get rewarded. But having references whether academic or occupation increases your opportunity because you have people that can verify your abilities. I say just look at that website and read the different requirements for scholarships but yes typically you need either academic or occupational references. This is the same if you were to apply to graduate school.

When in doubt, you may have to do fafsa and just take a student loan

I have both. I used the FAFSA for my Associates, and the Fafsa wasn't enough for my B.S., so I had to take out both subsidized and unsubsidized loans. I'm trying to contact different jobs (did one already but I'm not sure if she's going to take a next step) so I work while getting my degree. Outside of scholarships I really don't know what else.
