Sacre Coeur de Paris

Sirona

Hindu Wannabe
Sacre Coeur

I spent one week in Paris, which was one of the reasons for me to enter a church since I traded the eucharist for a huge plate of Indian vegetarian food. In the little white chamber over the altar, the blessed sacrament is presented for perpetual adoration and it even was when Paris was bombed in WW II. After you got yourself registered you can spend the entire night in the church in prayer.

However, the church is a house of prayer and an indoor market at the same time. There is a shop where you can buy all kinds of devotional objects. The most expensive item they offered was a rosary made of Swarovski beads for 324 euros.

I also was at Notre Dame de Paris, but I liked Sacre Cœur better. Entering the church was like meeting with a former lover. You remember the sweet feeling of once having loved him, while knowing you don't love him anymore.

The Sacre Coeur reminds me of a wedding cake but I love the views from up there :)
