Civil war!
I'm not ready to state it as a fact but the appearance of a civil war. If Russia does not pull troops out of Ukraine, Wagner could win. If they do, Ukraine will win.

I would not bet that Prigozhin is any better than Putin given Wagner atrocities in various countries but for now I'm content to see Prigozhin vs the Russian military establishment.

This is one I'm going to be closely watching.

China will be the big winner regardless

Civil war?

Civil war!

I'm not ready to state it as a fact but the appearance of a civil war.

I hope any fighting remains between the Russian military and the Wagner group whether or not a civil war happens, though. If a full-blown civil war breaks out and civilians are caught in the crossfire, I think there could be even more widespread loss of innocent lives resulting from Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

Hopefully the Wagner Group's dispute with the Russian military can lead to a quicker end to the Ukraine war.

When a picture often paints a thousand words:

"Would Sir like the Polonium, the Novichok, or the Stab-in-the-back?"

With that last sentence meaning Ukrainian victory.

It appears to be over. Prigozhin never had a chance with roughly 25,000 troops who were low on ammo. He got as far as Lipetsk, but his buddy Lukashenko brokered a deal with Putin. (And we all know that Putin can be trusted not to break his word. ;)) Prigozhin will go into exile in Belarus, and charges against him will be dropped. Those Wagnerites who did not join in the march on Moscow will be offered contracts in the military. Theoretically, the others won't face retribution. I doubt any of them will escape payback, and Prigozhin should be careful around windows in tall buildings in Minsk.

What a darn shame.
It would be better for Russian soldiers
to kill each other than to kill Ukrainians.

Putin: "These men are terrorists, and traitors to the nation!"
(less that 48 hours later)
Putin: "We have welcomed these men back into our forces, and offered them new contracts."

What a strong, good, big boy he is. Adorable.

Not sure this is true or not but highly likely:

Vladimir Putin's intelligence agent thugs employed mob tactics to force coup leader Yevgeny Prigozhin to back down as he marched on Moscow this weekend. The Ministry of Defence has revealed that Russian FSB operatives threatened to hurt the families of the Wagner Company's top brass just moments before mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin called off his advance.

Apparently, after announcing charges against Prigozhin would be dropped, there appears to be no sign that they are being dropped. Warlord Prigozhin, for his part, is moving to set up an 8,000 person camp just south of Minsk. He has said that most Wagnerites will not join the Russian military, which is not as well-equipped or well-fed as his army. So the Wagner Group appears to be moving to Belarus, not just Prigozhin. I'm wondering if he will now serve Belarusian interests against Russia. Apparently, Belarus now has some tactical nukes in its territory. Lukashenko depends on Russia's patronage to stay in power, but he may now have a private army nearby that is willing to help him stand up to Putin.

Any imagined silver lining is beginning to look more and more like tin with one possible exception being an evolving chill in Sino-Russian relations.
